Ok it's really hard to convert it to white as I don't have the original files. It looks really good though with the draft I've done. If you can ask the author to add a light version. Logos should always comes in 2 version. Light and dark to fit every future situations.

Let me know once you have it and I'll finish the intro! Thanks.

I've been able to do something better than this and it's still not resizing correctly in After Effects. I really want to help but only the original author will be able to do it!

I am also the creator of the logo along with two other people. To help you I can give you the two. psd files. You could make whatever modifications you want.
As for your startup screen, I think it's nice.
The music is great. 🙂
Personally, the only thing that's wrong is the city in the background.

@all I am in high favor of putting a splashscreen at the start of Batocera but I think that we should not over thing this too much, the entire conversation when from making a simple boot splashscreen to an intro video. I believe that an intro video will be too much and a little annoying after a while, however, a short animated logo video very similar to the PS3/ Xbox360 intro is the best way to go, no need to add a menu in system to adjust this "boot screen", after all, the point its to make the Batocera name stand out!. The splashscreen for Recall box that Mathema point out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgcuWpbGj7o I believe is more of what Batocera needs, shot, fun, retro and stylish making the name more prestige, now I will love to see something like this be done for Batocera..... again is just my opinion let me know what you all think.

Great job with the logo videos =).
I just have one suggestion: do not put background music (highly preferred) or put a very subtle (low volume) one.
This is a highly criticised point in the recalbox one. At the beginning the wow-factor is nice for the music, but it wears out and turns annoying quickly in time.

@Mathema Thanks for the PSD, it helped. I still can't change the logo color to white without destroying the red button because they're in the same image. Still I've took the swirl thing and it works great!

@Mathema I've changed the city background to a pacman background instead.

@hughro Sorry but I don't agree. The song is pretty good and epic, like the Stranger Things intro song.

Personally, I like the VHS effect very much. 80/90's style. 😉 (Tastes and colours)
And why Pac Man ?
On the other hand, the music must not be too loud when the animation starts.
One single reproach if I may say, I find the logo "Batocera Linux" is not big enough in the video. Especially when you see the size of the triangle.
Could you put it on bigger?

If you want to put a little slogan, see what other people think ! 😃

Mathema I am too a big fan of the VHS and 80s 🙂

This is the maximum size for the logo I can do because the reveal layer is a square. So if I make the logo bigger the top and the bottom appears and doesn't reveal. It really can't be like that! Hard to explain sorry!

Pacman background is an arcade classic. If someone have better background idea send me the image (high resolution) and I'll test it 🙂

The music is fading slowly and increases so it's correct.

I could put a line of text but I think it's gotta be too much. It's already loaded and if we want this to look pro it needs to be not too much!

Though the slogan could be on the next white screen loading page. But even there I find it not good. Like if Windows and Mac OS had a slogan when it boots. It wouldn't be pro.

You have to respect a certain dimension. It's unfortunate, but not serious. It's already a good job. 😉
I hope that other users will like it as much as I do.
Since the video is the 80's, I would see more Space Invaders in the background. 😃
Anyway, Pac Man suits me very well. 😉
For the slogan you're right. It was an idea that had crossed my mind. 🙂
