here, i've build a 5.14 i1 for rpi3,

5.14 is not yet finnished at all, but because of my big changes, i need testers.

tests and feedbacks about regresssions are welcome while i've changed several things in the way emulators are run. it is now more robust, but i may have fail in upgrading files.
To rollback in 5.13, just do as if you updated, it will update to the last official version.

- rpi: new splash video
- rpi: mutable splash video (add splashsound=off in /boot/recalbox-boot.conf to disable the sound)
- rpi: customizable splash video (put a video in /boot/splash.mp4)
- link update MameDB and Screenscraper
- configgen: partially rewritten
- decoration (bezel): available for different resolutions
- mupen64: add osd message when available on the architecture (not on rpi)
- reicast: update version

I just tested 5.14 i1 on my rpi3 today.
1) Decoration (Bezel): Is this the Gameboy Advance bezel around the game screen? It looks nice but I find the full screen one better. Where can bezels be deactivated?
2) Installed some Amiga 1200 games: They (e.g. Arkanoid) all run showing the demo/hacker screen but afterwards (mouse click) they all freeze (I'm still able to return to the titles by pressing Start+Shift button). Tested with Amiberry. FSUAE doesn't work at all (for what is it good for?)

3) The splash video looks nice and is a good idea. But for me it is not required to be there. I could find it better if it would continue to play while Batocera is loading. Currently after the video finishes the loading screen is still shown (yes,I guess Batocera is still busy with loading)
4) The width of the Missing Bios list is too small to be able to read the whole name of a bios. If the list couldn't be made wider a rolling text effect of the selected item would be nice, too.
5) Screenscaping works again now. Perfect!

Bonsoir, après réinstallation du système en 5.14, il n'y a plus moyen de lancer les roms, retour sous ES immédiat, Kodi ne se lance pas non plus. J'ai essayer de mettre a jour par le fichier boot.tar.xz. c'est identique. Par ailleurs, depuis la version 5.12, j'ai toujours des problèmes de manettes analogiques usb (thrustmaster gp xid) qui ne fonctionnent plus ou mal après le lancement du jeu. je peux t'envoyer un rapport, si tu veux.

Reading some messages from the users I noticed that several have difficulties in updating manually to help in the tests.

Thinking about these users and also on facilitating the tests, an idea would be to activate the update option (unstable, beta and stable), the configuration is already in the conf file needs to implement in the ES menu and configure the repository

default: stable; set to beta to get the next version currently being tested. set to unstable at your own risk to get the development version.

Unstable = Alpha versions, testing new features and major changes.

bonjour, sur la special29, j'ai toujours le problème des manettes analogiques usb depuis la version 5.12 (idem sur 512 beta et XU4), il faut que je les débranche & rebranche après avoir lancer le jeu (le bouton hotkey ne fonctionne pas il me change les shaders). Par contre avec mes manettes ibuffalo classic usb, je n'ai pas ce problème. J'ai noté que sur un écran 4/3, les jeux n'étaient pas centrés (décalage sur la gauche) mais ok sur un 16/9. Peux-tu mettre a jour fba libretto en version 42 pour la prochaine version ? Merci

Not sure if this was a problem before. I tried 5.14 on Pi 3 and have noticed that Amiga CD32 ISOs are not being launched from ES. Emulator shows CD32 boot image (picture of the CD and Amiga CD32 logo) but it doesn't boot disk. If I open emulator settings and assign manually CD from its GUI then it will launch the disk.
I like opening video and it also seems that 5.14 boot much faster than previous versions (even with my 128Gb USB stick almost full with games). Thanks!

Now it is giving the same result of "THEGAMESDB".

For me 5.14 does not emulate Dreamcast emulator, hotkey + start does not quit tried other options also not only dreamcast remaining emulators quit normal, use ps3 controls

the problem of the current beta/stable system is that it requires :
- that the user edit recalbox.conf to change the mode when he wants to test the last alpha
- requires on my side to duplicate beta/stable files because the system doesn't choose the best (most recent) between beta and stable.

i've thought to several system, but never implemented one.
the simplest one would be just a "install the last beta" button next to upgrade to install the last beta.
i don't think that somebody want to install beta versions without checking theforum on what it contains.
install the last version would rollback to the last stable.

an other idea was to let the user type a code (digit code).
for example, 22, it would install special22.

however, nothing done for the moment.
i don't know if people are not really interested to test or if that's too complicated to upgrade manually.
i added the possibility to just unzip to upgrade manually.
i added the possibility to run a simple recalbox-upgrade url to upgrade too.

I prefer to upgrade Batocera manually (by unzipping the image and replaceing the old one). But I wish to get a notification if a new version is available. This should also say which version it is and list the change log of this release (if this is possible on the rpi3 architecture.

I'm working on ES in the updates part, your ideas were good and more practical.
I'm implementing an option to choose between unstable, beta and stable but this will give even more work for you to keep the repository.
I'll see if I have any idea what you have and the idea you gave.

Older Amiga games require older Kickstart than 3.1 and OCS/ECS chipset rather than AGA. Try the same games with Amiga 500.

2) fsuae is for x86, while amiberry is for rpi
3) it's because the video is too sort ; with a longer video, it works

I will try to find a longer video and will give feedback about my experiences with it.
fsuae for x86 => oh, the emulators are not flagged to be sorted out (or activated) automatically on the respective architecture? Would this make sense to implement such a feature in future? I could imagine that there could be 2 or more emulators be available for a plattform (like neogeo) and depending on the game one of them could be the better or the only choice. Therefore showing only emulators which can be run on the current architecture would be nice. Butter other things may have higher priority I guess...

Peux tu ajouter la gestion des fichiers whdl .uae sur amiga. J'ai modifié le fichier es_system.cfg pour afficher les .uae, mais lorsque je lance un fichier .uae, je n'ai que l'image du kickstart qui s'affiche, le jeu ne se lance pas. Je n'arrive toujours pas à sauvegarder ma config et il faut que je modifie à chaque lancement d'un jeu adf les paramètres du joystick pour jouer avec la manette. Aussi, sur la dernière version de r.e.c.a.l.b.o.x, les fichiers segacd compressés en chd v5 fonctionnent bien après ajout de ".chd" dans le fichier es_config.cfg (simple mise à jour du core genesisplusgx ?). merci et bonne journée.

Pour le problème de manettes analogiques usb, ça fonctionne bien si j'installe la 5.11, puis mise a jour vers 5.13 et 5.14. Par contre si j'installe directement la 5.13 ou 5.14, il faut que je débranche/rebranche la manette à chaque fois que je lance un jeu, ou lorsque je veux accéder au menu libretto. Je n'ai pas ce souci sous DC,N64,PSP.
