Trouble booting, hangs at loading screen

Hey fellas, I'm trying to run batocera on my xu4 but it's just not booting. I am using the power supply that comes with the board but it seems the power cuts off around the white loading screen, only to cut power and boot again. Do I need to get a higher voltage power supply to run batocera? I have never had problems running from a raspberry pi even with a hdd attached to it. This happens whether I have a hdd plugged in to the xu4 or not. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Can you answer to the following questions
- what is the version of batocera you are using
- what is the power supply max current
- do you boot from emmc or sd
- do you have both sd and emmc plug
- other things we should know 🙂

I am using verion xu4 5.11, booting from a 16GB sandisk SD card. The xu4 is definitely set to boot from SD, checked a couple of times! The power supply is the 5v/4a one that comes with the xu4. It's a 2pin plug but since I'm from the uk they have provided a 3pin adapter for it, if that makes a difference. Thanks guys!

@Anonpebbles i give you however the most probable option:
edit the file boot.ini and change the like mmblkp0 by mmblkp1 (or the contrary).
in case you have an emmc card, the current xu4 version doesn't have the correct device number in this file.
Note that this problem is fixed for the next release.
Note that there is a button to select sdcard or emmc too to select correctly.

As mentionned by nadenislamarre can you check what you have in the boot.ini.
