I create this post so that people can follow it, be alerted when i push a test version, and be able to test new features / bug fixed.

The boot.tar.xz file has only one file with no extension inside it with the same name boot.tar.xz, but without final extension ... if I re-extract this file there are generated boot folders with the file recalbox update, folder Overlays etc .... so, what would be the correct procedure to do the update? Extract the boot.tar.xz only in the main directory, which will result in a file with this same name "boot.tar.xz" but no extension, or re-extract the file to have folders, including the recalbox file. Update etc (as this method can ask to replace files?

it this a alpha version from 5.7 ?

i just added the ps2 system on the 5.6 version and it show on the screen but isos wont run , no cores to load isos :/

I read the whole wiki, but I did not understand one thing: in the instructions, just extract the boot.tar.xz file from the SD card directory, but the raspbery pi file I downloaded, inside it has a boot.tar file only. Would it then need to extract again to have access to the actual files? Because if I extract only once, I will only have a boot.tar file .... if you can clarify only this doubt, I would be very grateful.

I successfully upgraded the system.

Unfortunately, I realized that there is an extreme slowness in the gameplay of Nintendo DS, preventing a good gameplay, so as feedback, I inform you that there is no good gameplay with the core of DeSmuME inserted at the moment.

In the tests I saw on Nintendo DS on Raspberry Pi 3 with Retropie, I realized that the emulation is fluid and very good, but the core used is DraStic, and what was inserted in this test Update is DeSmuME, In it, there are no emulation options like in DraStic (RetroArch options only).

The DraStic version r2.5.0.3 is used in retropie 4.1 and, once the analog is pressed right to the right, we access the configuration options like frameskip etc.

In this video, we can see that the emulation is fully fluid in Raspberry Pi3 with this version of the core of DraStic. (Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQPyUUvCDq0)

So I ask: would it be possible to replace the DeSmuME Core with that of DraStic r2.5.0.3 just as it exists in the retropie?

luizthiago What are ypur pc specs. Nds on my retro pc do play but choppy as well. e8500 3.15 ghz, nvida 640 gpu 4gb ram

@luizthiago if you use a correct tools, it knows to extract a .tar.xz in one step. some tools required 2 steps.

DeSmuME is fine on x86 depending on the computer.
i'll see to add drastic later, but it's more complex while i far as i've undertand, it's not just a libretro core, but a complete.

leo_kendall my plataform is Raspberry Pi 3 , mini PC ...and the DeSmuME is realy slowly on this ...

I believe that the core of DraStic will work much better on this platform, since the emulator is well-flowed in other systems available for RP 3. However, I will not change my current system, as I am quite enjoying the batocera linux and I believe that in the future We can have the DraStic functional in stable OS version

I used the 7zip program to extract and did the process twice, which worked, and the update occurred successfully.

I also understood what you expose ... adding the core of DraStic would be more complex then adding the DeSmuME ...

Sorry that unfortunately it really is not working well ... presents extreme slowness in the gameplay. Some DS games do not need the Mouse to play in no time or almost never, like the New Super Mario Bros and the Mario Kart DS, in addition to some others ... so I can play them on my smartphone with DraStic.
I understood that the software is third-party intellectual property, even because in android it gets paid ....

I thought it was possible to add it in the batocera, since the retropie contains his core in version 4.1, activating the experimental cores and both systems use the emulationStation.

i tested desmume on pc, Mario Kart DS and MegaMan ZX, works fine, i tested touch for change nickname on Mario Kart it's ok, my pc http://imgur.com/a/50rli

On PC with good specifications, like yours, by the way the DeSmuME does very well and runs smooth the games. But on PCs like Raspberry that has simpler configurations, DraStic is better optimized, running smooth on Raspberry Pi 3 .... even heavier emulators like nintendo 64 are running fine on Raspberry Pi3 (I think the games Of the N64 are much heavier than those of Nintendo DS) ... however, the optimization of DeSmuME for Raspberry unfortunately is still not good ....

Sorry for RaspBerry PI 3, for now, only DraStic seems to be functional without slowness ... at least in my Raspberry Pi 3 it was very slow .. I do not know if there is any retroArch option that could improve the speed, I did not find "frame skip" etc to test ...

Scofield uma pena que o desenvolvedor não planeja adicionar o core do DraStic no batocera Linux... Pois ele funciona muito bem no retropie
