Need help to reinstall batocera

There is a lot of tutorials in internet how to install batocera but I did not find any
tutorial how to reinstall without losing the roms files. Wonder if there is a way
to reinstall batocera witout losing all the roms?

batocera has 2 partitions.
on the one available from windows which contains boot/ recalbox linux files (recalbox is the batocera main file about 500M😎 : you can remove all the files and then, unzip the file boot.tar.gz from here : http://batocera-linux.xorhub.com/upgrades/

the 2nd partition is not visible from windows, you cannot remove it.
you can use the backup function too to save the 2nd partition on a usb key and restore it after.

note however that reinstall batocera has no real meaning.

batocera is not like windows or recalbox,
the system (aka c: for windows) is read only and cannot be modified (or data are lost on reboot)
everybody has the same. it's why upgrading batocera is so simple,
and it's why reinstalling (ie copying the file /boot/recalbox again) does change nothing.

the only thing that change between 2 people is the data.
data includes : roms, saves, configs
if you want to restart from zero without losing roms and saves, the simplest is to remove the configs directory and retstart batocera (it will reput the default configs directory (available in /recalbox/share_init)

The reason I want to reinstall batocera in my Rpi 3 is that it was suggested in order to run intellivision games because they do not work with batocera 5.15 even having all bios and .int files.

in my case what I do is have a backup on my pc with win where I keep the roms etc. , reinstall batocera in a clean memory and pass all the roms with a memory reader under puppy linux or some linux-based system that reads the hidden partitions ..
