I tried to force who is which pad on the ES menu under Controller Settings.
Default Setting here was "DEFAULT"
When i set the following:
INPUT P1 to "#0 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P2 to "#1 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P3 to "#2 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P4 to "#3 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
I have the same behaviour as when all Inputs are set do "DEFAULT"
In Super Bomberman 3 for SNES for example, the result is, what i wrote before (Controller #1 is Player 3, Controller #2 is Player 4, Controller #3 is Player 1 and Controller #4 is Player 2).
When i try to change the Controller Settings in ES Menu like for example:
INPUT P1 to "#2 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P2 to "#3 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P3 to "#0 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P4 to "#1 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
And after that, when i exit the Menu and test Super Bomberman 3 again, nothing changed. When i go back to Controller Settings in ES Menu, my changes are gone and it is set like this again:
INPUT P1 = "#0 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P2 = "#1 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P3 = "#2 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
INPUT P4 = "#3 SONY PLAYSTATION...OLLER"
Everytime i do changes here, when i go out of the Menu and go back to the Menu again, my changes are lost.
Very strange.
I made a short video, for better understanding:
