hls streams in kodi (openssl for ffmpeg)

I am using a plugin in kodi that won't open an hls stream. With kodi's debugging turned on, the error message is:
'DEBUG: ffmpeg[65AFD3E0]: https protocol not found, recompile FFmpeg with openssl, gnutls or securetransport enabled.'

I tried the same kodi plugin with openelec and it works. Comparing the output of 'ffmpeg -buildconf' from both systems I found the difference is:
--enable-openssl in openelec and
--disable openssl in batocera.

Can you enable openssl for ffmpeg please?

but in fact, there is an other possibility :
use gnutls instead of openssl.
it is what buildroot will do by default if both are available.

while i've issues on the 5.16 ; i may do this change for 5.16

With your buildroot environment LibreSSL may also be an option.

hls streams work in 5.16rc2!
ffmpeg -buildconf shows '--enable-gnutls'
top shows 96% idle while playing a 720p60fps stream (>2.5Mbps)
