How to add theme

Hi~guys

I use batocera.linux x64 editin.in my labtop

Everything is ok , but I have only one problem.

It's how to add theme in batocera.linux

I added theme on system path=/etc/emulationstation/theme/~

(I do mount -o remount,rw /)

It work well , but after reboot

They recovered default theme.

I am korean,

And Korean is in language

But when I choose it

I showed only square,square,square,square~

I want read Korean , Not square,square,square,square

Plaease Help me

So how can you use ES themes found on github then on this build? I have tried several now and they are all broken even though the referencing in the theme.xml files are correct.

fnkngrv YMMV with ES themes from Github. Lots of the ES themes that are out there are designed to use features found in the RetroPie version of ES (eg: videos/carousel/marquee artwork).

Your best bet is to look for themes are designed for recalbox/batocera in particular. If you have the time/skills you can modify themes to get them to work. An example is a fork I've been working on of the CRT theme (https://github.com/asdfgasfhsn/es-theme-crt).

I'm having problems with this also. All i get is a white background with just a plain black text for each system. I've tried Emulga, Next-Level and Next-Pixel themes and they all give me the same results. I placed the them folders themselves in the /recalbox/share/system/.emulationstation/theme folder. Any advice to fix this?

BMC_War_Machine I have the same problem: white background, no pictures and black text. If I figure it out, I'll post here.

Only certain themes will work. Nothing with side wheel. Or video snaps.

Look at the structure of the things you're trying to put in comic book works it looks anything like comic book then it will work

Did you create any other themes?
It would be nice to have other themes on Batocera.
The Next-Pixel themes are also very beautiful, but are not compatible with Batocera.

If I understood your comment correctly, you made three other themes.
Can you share them so I can test them ?
You can create a topic just for the themes. Users will be able to report problems encountered. 🙂

Where's the default theme installed?
I would like to modify the default theme to try to put a bigger game screen capture for my little 10" screen but the folder THEMES on "\BATOCERA\share\system.emulationstation\themes" is empty.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The theme folder is empty at first installation. Download themes in the link BATOCERA \ share \ system.emulationstation \ themes - copy files into themes folder. they all work.
