XU4 Stable VS Beta display & video playback problems

Hi, I'm running Odroid XU4 and I have a screen that supports 1366x768 hdmi input (max).

In order not to have my screen cropped (which is what happens in "default" 1920x1080 resolution and also on x720) I select my 1366x768 resolution in boot.ini

The problem is each of the OS releases (stable/beta) has its own problems making it unusable for me:

With Stable (5.15-legacyxu4-20180502):
- the screen glitches with the 1366x768 resolution. Basically just the top third of the screen is clear, the bottom is glitched out.
+ kodi playback works perfectly in this version (but i have to use the cropped 1920x1080 or the glitchy 1366x768)

With Beta (5.16-xu4-20180510):
+ screen works nicely with the 1366x768 resolution
- but kodi playback is super slow, choppy and without audio

Can you please make a build that would combine both positives? 😉 Pretty please?

OR is there a way to COMBINE some of the BETA files with STABLE that would fix the screen output but keep the stable Kodi? Can you help me with that?

you screen must not be cropped.
in 99% of the case i found, it's the tv that has a filter effect that produces it.
check, most of tv have a "game" mode, or "no filter" mode.
i had to enable it on my tv to have my output not cropped.

nadenislamarre I've gone trough all the TV menus and features just now, but there is nothing similar to what you mention. I tried even the options that made no real sense...

Again, picture is not cropped when the 1366x768 resolution is set on BETA release... (or Odroid's official builds) so I don't think it's TV that's cropping it.

I also tried using TV's other HDMI input (HDMI 2) and it/s the same.

I will try again, but I think I already tried everything with the TV settings, even upgrading TV firmware.

The TV supports 1366x768 resolution says the manual...
It's an old TV with not many options... Philips 26PFL5403D/10

What display can I use?
There is a HDMI (Type-A) output port on ODROID-C2.
Here is a list of supported resolution at this moment.

1.) The resolution works fine on some OSes. I described in my 1st post that screen is fine with the BETA release. So it must be supported. It's also one of the options on the official Ubuntu image Odroid provides.

2) I tried the boot.ini you linked (& uncommented 1366x768 resolution) with the STABLE image (where Kodi works) but this combination does not boot at all, just sits at blank screen.

Hey again!
I have now tried the new "batocera-5.16-legacyxu4-20180627" but it behaves as the old stable (glitchy at 1366x768).

What part of the Beta (5.16-xu4-20180510) is different from what Stable (5.15-legacyxu4-20180502) & (5.16-legacyxu4-20180627) have in common to make the BETA work with the resolution and the other two not?

Is it the kernel (since the "legacy" is mentioned in filename)?
Do you plan to update the kernel to that version? (This seems my only hope.)

the kernel is not updated to the 4.x while there are issues with that kernel for the moment.
