1 -) I had the same problem as you to transfer roms to the SD... via network (wifi) takes many hours to transfer. via Network cable this time drastically reduces, so it can be a solution for you to connect the Raspberry directly to the network cable if possible. My solution: I found the "Paragon EXTFS" program on the internet that allows you to read linux partitions directly on windows and lets you write them ... all OK now (but this program is paid and requires an "activator" to work without paying ...)
