Batocera on hard drive?

Hello,
I would to know if it possible to install Batocera directly on hard drive?
I would like created a computer with only Batocera.

there are two way to do this.

1/ With another computer :
Use a sata/usb connector to access the hard drive you want to turn into batocera linux bootable drive.
Under windows, use "create a partition" in the control panel.
Select the drive and erase any existing partition.
Create a partition WITHOUT formatting (aka blank partition).
Use "win32diskimager" to uncompress the batocera linux img file onto the hard drive.
Plug your hard drive in your computer and boot : this will create the share partition in the remaining space of the drive

2/ With the computer you destinate to become a batocera linux computer :
Use a bootable usb key with "hiren boot cd" to boot into a mini winxp environnement
Under windows, use "partition magic wizard" in hbcd menu.
Select the drive and erase any existing partition.
Use "diskimage" in hbcd menu to uncompress the batocera linux img file onto the hard drive.
Reboot on your hard drive : this will create the share partition in the remaining space of the drive

JAC666 you can, its easy.

1-conect the hard disk with a hdd usb case or usb hdd docking.
2-download and open win32diskimager
3-Select the hdd and batocera.linux image and start to copy it.

4-Done, conect the hard drive on the pc and be fun. ( if you have more bootable hdd be sure you enter in bios to make 1st boot the batocera.linux hard drive.

yes you can.
just do the same as you did for the usb key.
note that in the next versions, i will add an installer, but it's not my main priority for the moment.

i have do tha exactly like the usb stick with my 2tb internal hdd but it wont save now anything....

Batocera of a harddrive is great. My setup is 2 harddrives. one for the operating system and the other for the rom/iso. this way makes loading rom files so so much easier.

Paracelsius I didn't have a usb hdd adapter, and connecting the hdd directly didn't work with win32diskimager. The second method worked.

I didn't use the mini winxp env, I only used DiskImager 1.6 (http://roadkils-disk-image.soft112.com/) to burn the image instead of win32diskimager and it worked. Thanks

Paracelsius Question on method #2: Do I download the batocera image to my designated computer AND THEN boot the "Hiren Boot CD" on that computer? I've asked about this method a few days ago but I didn't get a reply. Thanks.

Hello.
My english is very basic. Please try help me.

I have made the installation of the two forms described here.
When I connect the disk to the computer and turn it on, in the upper left the legend "linux.batocera" appears for 5 seconds approx.
After that the screen goes black and the pc does nothing else.
I've waited for over half an hour, and nothing.
Which may be?

ardax its strange, try to use a diferent Hard disc or try to use this disc on a other PC for see if the problem is the pc or the hard disc.

if you use a usb docking/case for the hard disc try to use another diferent or put the hard disc inside directly on IDE/SATA witout usb case/docking.

if nothing is saved, it's because batocera was unable to mount the 2nd partition, and switch to a ram disk (data are then lost when you shutdown).
you should create only 1 partition. batocera will create the 2nd one correctly at the first boot.
