5) what was your error about the plugin ? it is not possible to select any plugin but from what you have informed it is not a problem since the plugin is default.

ok. in fact it's because your gpu hardware is not supported (at least with this configuration), let me find if i can have more information.

ok, i found more information. the real requirements are a bit more complex. it's opengl 3.3 and a series of gl extensions. thus, in other words, your hardware is not good enough. try an other gpu card.

At first, i wanna say Thank You! 🙂 PS2 finally arrived on batocera.linux! What great news 🙂

Now here are my questions:
Which GPU cards should work?
Could you list your system in detail?
I have several PCs here and will test them all and give feedback.

the minimal requirement is opengl 3.3 + some gl functions.
It's hard to give a list, but most of recent (less than 2 years and probably a lot more) computer should work.
My computer is probably not a good example, because it's a basic computer, low price, i3 only, and laptop.
Note that the default configuration for the moment is the default pcsx2, only the sound i've downgrade the quality from 3 to 2.
at the beginning, i didn't include sound, and now that i've added it, i notice it has a big impact on the performacnes (about 10% fps). note that it is still possible to disable different sound effect, and idem for graphics, by reducing effects and quality, i get very good performances (but so less nice).
my idea is to have a global batocera performance value to choose between 2 or 3 possible ps2 configuration.
if you want to test and find the options having the most impact, feedback is welcome.
however, note that for the moment, 2 points are missing :
- it's complicated to get the fps (because the game is run in full screen). i will provide a way (this week i hope) to let you see the % of performance.
- i hope to fix the save/load state issue ; i've a good guess

I tested it with my Intel NUC (DC53427HYE with i5-3427u and Intel HD Graphics 4600) and a Skylake system with Intel Pentium G4500 (with integrated Intel HD Graphics 530) and both unfortunately didn't work.
I get this error message on both systems:

"The plugin reports that your hardware or software/drivers are not supported.

/usr/PCSX/bin/plugins/libGSdx.so

opengl is 4.2 on the NUC (i5-3427U with Intel HD Graphics 4600) and 4.5 on the Pentium G4500 (Intel HD Graphics 530).

I will now test some other systems.

Just tested with another Intel NUC (D54250WYK with i5-4250U and Intel HD Graphics 5000) and it is working! 🙂
It has OPENGL 4.5 and avx2 (the Systems before (i5-3427U and Pentium G4500), did not have avx2 under System Settings, Information).

Played a bit with GTA III and found out, that the D-Pad does not work in game (according to ingame Options, it should be possible to move with D-Pad and Analog-Stick, but only the Analog-Stick works for moving in game. I'm using original Sony PS3-Controller).

It also works on my Asus Zenbook UX305CA with m7-6Y75 CPU and Intel HD Graphics 515 (opengl 4.5 and also avx2).

2 points:
- i will try to write a mini program to determine what cause the computer to not work. this will be helpfull to determine the good cause, because opengl version is not the main issue apparently.
- for the pad in gta, i'll check. thanks.

nadenislamarre PS2 no game started, the emulator does not work. Emulator installed on your PC these games Bionicle Heroes, Contra, and Silent Hill 3 plays. Tried on two PCs and on one was not started.

Good morning, very good to have ps2 in batocera, to get to play you play with pes2014, ben 10 anyway good, I have 2 questions.
1 to start bartocera come into play ps2 normal loads and game, more to leave this game and choose another in the same does not load any more, I need to restart the batocera and choose the game there yes it works.
2- My generic ps3 controls work directional in some games and another example does not work in pes 2014 and not in ben10 and gta.
right up left does not work. now if you add a simple wired control the directional function ok.

Works:
Core i3-4360 with Intel HD Graphics 4600 -> opengl 4.5 with avx2
Core i7-4790 with Intel HD Graphics 4600 -> opengl 4.5 with avx2

joinski most likely the problem is the lack of avx2. my i5 760 does not have avx2 and also is not working on batocera but on windows it works super well.

thank u for this great release hopefully get bitter over time
my computer 2nd generation core i7 ( avx only ) dual GPU Intel hd 3000 which is the default
and nvidea gt 525m

in windows i have option to choose from one of them ( rt click and run with high performance or default)
in Linux i once in Linux mint was able to choose nvidea for display
but here in batocera the default is Intel hd 3000 which is weak in pcxr2 (even in windows) is there way to be able to run ps2 emulation with 2nd gpu and this is will be huge to all pcs with dual gpus which is popular mostly in laptops

i noticed that pcsx2 1.5 latest builds open gl not working in my case in windows ? which was working well before ( builds of may 2018)
so i advice u to try it on windows and see opengl if working or not?
i never reported to the developer but i ll wait and see next few builds if act same

tejaaaj I use version 1.4.0 on Windows and it works super well. I will test with this 1.5.0 to see if it gives any problem.

I have a Core i3 CPU and was testing the F12002. The game starts with a message saying that there is no control connected

I have tested other controls in several games and noticed some errors. Select down but go up. Up, but it goes down. I could not configure the control satisfactorily.
