Hello, is the OGST screen (N64 case for Odroid) supported?

Anyone get the OGST Screen working with 5.24? It seems to throw an error line 42: /recalbox/scripts/recalbox-save-overlay.sh: No such file or directory. I'd be willing to throw some money towards this if anyone can fix it.

Got it working. Just run the script above. Then run these lines from the terminal (i'm guessing the script has permission issues or something).

After that, just restart and you should be good.

Hi,
I updated my package and scripts to use with Batocera 5.23 & on. Now it uses the very useful "Scripting event on starting/ending a game" instead of having to patch the configgen.
Big thanks to @nadenislamarre for that feature.

In that package I have used the set of video clips from @TheMiniCakeTV : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TLtbjv0JNk&feature=youtu.be

So, to install it, get access via ssh then simply run the following command:
curl -sL https://www.dropbox.com/s/3xcm3sk7ap5xovw/install.sh | bash

If you want to uninstall it, run:
curl -sL https://www.dropbox.com/s/sm7lcf7eblxkagt/uninstall.sh | bash

enjoy ;)

littlebalup Yes the feature was introduced here and was merged and improved with PR768 here. So it is a powerfull feature and therefore usefull for some usecases like yours. Perfectly done

By the way, I may have to do a fresh install soon. Can I save files from my SD Card to copy when I'll be on Batocera 5.25?
If so, can you tell me witch files please?

Hi littlebalup,

I have access to my XU4 through WinSCP, have SSH on and have run the install command that you have in your post above. The terminal says it has installed, but i have a black LCD OGST case screen. I know the hardware is working via another OS image and I’m running Batocera 5.30. My first try to activate the screen was using the integrated install file in the content downloader, but that didn’t work either.

Do you know of any current issues affecting the LCD in this release or have a suggestion on which script or file edit to try next?

@nadenislamarre I think this package could be added as additional file for the XU4. I think it's quite usefull and if @littlebalup agrees it could be copied to batocera.org. It makes perfect use of the capabilities of BATOCERA

@TragiComix All data in /userdata is your personal data. So even on a update a future version of BATOCERA it will not be changed. No need to install the OGST-patch again :)
For update you can use internal ES updater or by SSH/Terminal and just type batocera-update

The OGST screen support is broken in batocera 29/30.
Personnaly I’m using batocera 5.26 with the OGST screen pack installed from content downloader.
N64 and Dreamcast games run better with this version.

Hello,

Thanks for letting me know. So rolling back to 5.26 should allow the screen to work. I am particularly interested in N64 games, so if they run better then double win :)

In 5.30 I find the best emulator is the Glide64Mk2, works much better than the others.

I am trying to use the OGST TFT with 5.31 and am not sure if it is still broken or I am using it correctly. Should the default videos simply play when I launch an emulator? I am trying to manually send the videos to /dev/fb0 with ffmpeg, but nothing is showing up. retropie versions of the commands try to use a video format that is not supported by the batocera version of ffmpeg.

I tried this for example and do not see anything:
ffmpeg -re -i /userdata/system/scripts/logo.png -c:v rawvideo -pix_fmt bgra -f fbdev /dev/fb0

In my case, I have a Batocera 5.26 with the OGST screen pack downloaded via content downloader.

With this version, games for the N64 and Dreamcast perform better.
