Advice on configuration for a Rasp Pi bartop w/ IPAC2

Hi all,

I am building a bartop using a RasPi 3 and an IPAC2 in keyboard mode (as I need it to support two players). I'm using an old 4:3 LCD screen via a HDMI-VGA adapter.

I was initially going to do this in Recalbox but am now looking at Batocera due to Recalbox not being actively maintained.

The difficulty I'm facing however is that EmulationStation seems to be setup almost exclusively for gamepads, making setup with the IPAC2 keyboard encoder difficult. While I do plan on having some USB ports on the bartop exposed for plugging in controllers for consoles, I am primarily going to be using this for MAME, so would like to easily navigate the UI using the joystick and buttons connected to the IPAC2.

Has anyone had any experience setting up an IPAC2 as the primary interface on Recalbox or Batocera? Any advice or tips?

can you create a report please via menu>system>information>create a report and send the file generated in saves.
i imagine that ipac2 is a keyboard ?
i would like via the report to see how it it recognized and why it doesn't work.
keyboard are recognized on batocera and recalbox, you are not supposed to get trouble to navigate in es.
i navigate with a normal keyboard on rpi3 this week.

Sorry, I was under the impression that there were no default keyboard mappings for Start, Select, A and B in ES. Since found them, and confirmed that my IPAC2 is working fine.
