Mount disk as rw

I'm manually mounting some disks in fstab like this:

UUID=0416A85816A84D0C /media/external ntfs defaults 0 0

It's an ntfs partition. I tried different settings with ntfs-3g and rw option and more.... but still no luck. I can't write on it. It keeps saying read-only system.
Any ideas or help?

fs including ntfs are automatically mounted as read write
except if it was shut down incorrectly and that the driver estimate it cannot safely mount it as read write (because ntfs specifucation are hidden by microsoft and not open) inthis case, you have to open and ejdct the disk from a windows machine. after it willwork. dmesg may give you more information.
