Hello, I try to use the Amiga Emulator. It works well with a lot of ADF-Files. There is a way to use WHDLoad insted of ADFs. It is more comfortable for Games...

and i see that yesterday, your files have been updated on recalbox :

@voljega should i extract the whdl feature from your work to adapt it, or can i just copy all files (and however adapt while it will not exactly work out of the box) because i think that you do more that i did.
however, my understanding is that whdl implementation is an extraction to a folder, then a run with this folder and what you did is more than that.

It's pretty much that, but you also have to copy whdl bootstratp file to it to make it work and modify them a little
my script also handle backup of modified game files to handle saves

feel free to copy all my code if you want, as it also handle adf pretty neatly, and it might be easier for integration

new commits on recalbox are to handle zip/lha whdl games, I didn't do that so I can't help you on it

Hi,

the latest version from Amiberry support's whd load. you have to start amiberry with this parameter: -autowhdload=<file>

Then amiberry use this "framework" from www.whdload.de

Is that maybe a good way for whd-load support?

Edit: The last version from amiberry use the controller stuff from retroarch. This make it possible to use a analog stick from my ps3 controller as virtual mouse device.

just a little update:

a made a test with the whdload stuff and it works great!

the question is how to start this games from emulationstation as whdload game? Maybe its a good way to make a "new" core as whdboot option?

One question, how to save files from amiberry to /recalbox/share/system/configs/amiberry
my files go alway to /recalbox/share_init/system/configs/amiberry

this is the last problem for a full working WHD-Load Amiberry Version...

what is the trick?

And one more question to the controller config. Amiberry use the deafult controller config format from retroarch. If you go in retroarch to input -> save autoconfig you have the Filename and format thats work with amiberry out of the box. Bud the hotkeys are missing. I dont know how to handle this....

How to copy in the amyberry.mk a folder to /recalbox/share/system/configs/amiberry/whdboot?

I stuck at this point. I am not able to place any folder to /recalbox/share/system/configs/

I try to create this folder from the amyberry.mk bud no luck.

I also try to place this folder via board/batocera/fsoverlay/recalbox/share_init/system/

create the folder in this place:
board/batocera/fsoverlay/recalbox/share_init/system/amiberry

result are this folders:
/overlay/base/recalbox/share/system/configs/amiberry/whdboot
/recalbox/share_init/system/configs/amiberry/whdboot

kara2010 show me your .mk, at leastthe past containing this copy so that i understand betterly.

files must be placed here:
board/batocera/fsoverlay/recalbox/share_init/system/configs
and at boot, each directory existing inthis directory not exiting in /recalbox/share/system/configs arecopied.
however, placing files in these directory is not the best way to operate, but for a first version it is ok. this is not perforect, because it is not updatable (once the folder exist on the user side, any update in share_iinit is not applied).
devs are more on the discord chat, you should come here to best faster dev answers.

thank you for your detailed answer. I remove all copy parts from the mk file. For testing i place a folder named ammiberry2 in the config folder.

like this:
board/batocera/fsoverlay/recalbox/share_init/system/configs/amiberry2

after the first boot from Batocera i have this folders:

/overlay/base/recalbox/share_init/system/configs/amiberry2
/recalbox/share_init/system/configs/amiberry2

maybe there is a configuration file to edit for this, bud i have no luck to find it.

EDIT:
this does the magic, it works!

I try to place only userdata files to the share folder.

whload autoboot now supported - out of the box!
new controller configuration like Retroarch style. (creating a new controller configuration file for each controller)

you can set whdboot as new core in the advanced gamesettings for any amiga system thats supported by amiberry. I hope this way is ok for you?

its tested with a 2 controller setup (PS3/Xbox one).

sorry for my verry bad python programming. its my first contact with python. shame on me...

is it ok for you if i provide a testimage for rpi3 here?

kodi is not working, i have trouble to download the sources.

to activate whdload you have to set whdload as core in the advanced gamesettings for each amiga platform (or rom).
