Hello, I try to use the Amiga Emulator. It works well with a lot of ADF-Files. There is a way to use WHDLoad insted of ADFs. It is more comfortable for Games...

- why it uses retroarch config files ?
- how to recognize a file is whd ? it has the .whd extension ?

Hi,
i use Retroarch config files because in the last version from amiberry it is the best way. This make sure all controllers from batocera supported and works out of the box with amiberry. And this makes custom controlls working.

To recognize it is a whdload zip file you have to chose it as core in the advanced settings. I do this to keep the nomal adf support. so you can use zip/adf and zip/whdload together. you can switch whdload on to every system like a500 a1200 ...

you have always a gamename.info file in thwe root from the zip file.

you have to look for a .info file to recognize it is a whdboot game.

if you never test whdboot you will love it. And you never touche aggain a adf file. make no sense.

There is still a lot of games which only exist in adf format.

so @kara2010 your solution (well amiberry's native solution) only is compatible with lha/zip format for whdl ? not decompressed folder ?

please add lha extension to amiga for whdload.

lha is the new format for whdload, zip is outdated.

Files are similar to zip. you have a gamename.info in the root of the archiv.

whdboot working at the moment for lha/zip. this is right. Is there any reason to place unziped games on your sd card ?

the whdboot support don't touch the adf support.

kara2010 my custom solution for recalbox used uncompressed folder that's all.

does official integration supports saved games (I suppose so) and if yes how ? is the zip/lha modified or some extra modified content saved somewhere ?

Hello everyone !

I am trying to make WHDload roms work on X86 with batocera 5.20. I tried to copy some files I had working on recalbox into the amiga 1200 folder. When I launch a game (.uae) I have a screen with a moving floppy disk and with written 3.1 rom but nothing happens. To be more precise, I have in amiga1200 folder for each rom:
- a file named romname.uae (empty file)
- a folder named romname.uae (containing different files and folders)

Is this the good way to proceed? That would be nice if someone takes some time to explain how to proceed (and maybe useful for other users). Thanks!!

as far as i remember it is for rpi only. for x86 fsuae a plugin must be added or somthing like that

Thanks nadenislamarre for your answer! It would be very nice if WHDLoad was included for X86 in a future release. I read the documentation here several times but it is still not clear to me if an additional plugin is needed:

chris256 I think the guy from Retropie forum just wiped out all the kickstart files and that activated AROS, that's all. I was able to recreate that at my setup. So, I think without expert developer help we're stuck here 🙁

nadenislamarre, you integrated FS-UAE for x86 platforms. Do you have any idea what is wrong here? I was not able to find "Config.fs-uae" configuration file in the share volume. I think this is the key to proper FS-UAE tuning for WHDLoad.
