when I did the beta update on my internal hd it had the same black screen problem on the home screen. I did a beta installation on my pen drive and it worked perfectly. I have decided to delete the sysrtem folder from the share partition and install the beta version 5.20 and it is working perfectly. Hope it helps everyone!
