Dragu Thank you, following your advise I have open a ticket for this specific issue, it is awaiting approval from admin. By the way, how can I make a support file ?

I am just small time in the batocera forum, so I am not an expert here. If you can try to connect to your system with ssh, you could generate a support file by starting /recalbox/scripts/recalbox-support.sh. If you can connect by Lan or Wlan to your batocera box, the most easy is putty installed on your PC, after login : root, password linux. You can this way directly access your Batocera system. This will generate a log file, but for the rest, better to wait for a member of the team. I am an old Recalbox user, you know, where rats are leaving the sinking ship. 😉

Dragu I come from retropie, and to me, Batocera looks more promising than both recallbox & retropie in terms of features. I would be happy to solve my issue then to use my Bartop !

What I read, and as @nadenislamarre was writing, there seems to be some issues with certain graphic cards on 5.19. So, in your case I would install 5.18 and wait for a working new version. 🙂

I try the last build and nothing batocera-5.20-x86_64-20181209 still black screen after boot. but this time network is working.

My 64gb usb drive just arrived now I can make tests without risking my main batocera 5.18 on SSD, I will try new things this week and let you all know the results , maybe is a config from older version my initial was 5.15 and upgraded to .16, .17, .18, I will try a clean install later this week

I didnt have time to try yet, still using 5.18

On my side (AMD Ryzen 3), it still doesn't work. I suspect the kernel to be responsible of this, but I am not sure.
I know that only kernel 4.19 and above are stable with AMD Ryzen APUs.

@prog-amateur please use 5.18 or 5.20 beta (see forum)
while 5.19 has an issue with amd gpu.

I don't know what is the problem, I suspect a kernel issue but I am not sure.

PS : if you are french, you can also speak in french to me (it is sometimes easier). So far I answer in english for people who want to follow up this issue. Thank you again.

Hi Folks, After spend a several hours today, i win to install batocera 5.19 100%, formating my external HD (1Tb) and converting MBR to GPT mention on this forum.

EDIT #2 I have the same problem on Batocera 5.22. I moved the detailed description and logfile to this thread to make clear that it's an issue on Batocera 5.22:

I have this issue with 5.22, it used to work fine but everytime it boot, the "Loading system config" screen shows up and then black screen with a blinking cursor, if I type "startx" through ssh it starts working normally,

Anyone found a fix?
