There are actually 2 bugs, which I can reproduce in the same conditions :
the first one if I boot in UEFI, is the same as the one of the Black screen topic: a black screen with batocera written on the top left corner of the screen.
the second, if I boot in Legacy, is the crash of Batocera on the blue logo.
From what you say, Batocera uses kernel 4.18. On my bartop (we can see the assembly here using a Ryzen 3), with a kernel 4.18, it was impossible for me to start almost 9 times out of 10.
Then as soon as I managed to boot without really knowing why, I took the opportunity to update the kernel to 4.19. And now, no more bugs. Ryzen 3 is a good APU to emulate Wii, Gamcube, PS2, and older consoles.
I think this is a very important element to take into account for the dev team, I hope they will come by on this topic in order to verify this information, and make a beta version with a kernel at least higher than kernel 4.19.
