Ps2 don’t start, help!

Hello, I have 5.19 version of batocera and open gl 4.3. I can’t run ps2 emulator, just not go.

My config is: core 2 duo 2.80ghz , 3 gb ram ddr2 , GPU gt 710 1gb (open gl 4.3).

You could try this:
On the root of the usb-stick, where you installed batocera on, there is a file called "recalbox-boot.conf".
Open it with notepad++ and delete the "#" in front of "#nvidia-driver=true".
Save and boot from the USB-stick again and see, if PS2 is running now.

When this also does not work, then maybe you still don't have the right PS2 bios files.

Did you try to edit the file with another PC? For me it was not "Read-only". I could edit it without any problems.

Then you should try to get other PS2 bios files. Did you look in EmulationStation Main Menu under Games, Missing BIOS, PS2?

It is a bit tricky to find the right ones. The file-names and the md5 checksum have to be correct (even upper and lower case).
Which version of Batocera do you use?
For 5.19 you need these files (in brackets behind the last 4 digits of the md5 checksum):
PS2 Bios 30004R V6 Pal.bin (b3a9)
scph39001.bin (323e)
scph10000.bin (4600)
SCPH-7004_BIOS_V12_PAL_200.BIN (a095)

For 5.20 beta you need these:
ROM2.BIN (b468)
scph39001.MEC (43bc)
scph39001.bin (323e)
SCPH30004R.NVM (1148)
EROM.BIN (9cd0)
SCPH30004R.MEC (43bc)
rom1.bin (7139)
scph39001.NVM (a8ae)

some of the files in this package have to be renamed (you have to check with a tool like md5sum, which files are the right ones)

Do you have any other PC-Hardware to test? Maybe your system is not compatible with PS2 emulation in batocera.
Or did you already test the 5.20 beta version of batocera? Maybe this works for you.

Hi, I have the same problem. I tried batocera 5.19 and 5.20 with the same results (actually 5.20). I'm trying in an Intel Core i3 1.8 GHz and openGL 4.2.

If I go to Missing BIOS, PS2 I have a lot off missing BIOS. Where I should add or change BIOS files?
I'm really interested on PS2 games.

You have to put the BIOS files into the bios folder under /shared.

You can find the right BIOS files in the link i posted above.
But as i mentioned, you have to rename some files.

i am also having issues with this. I go to open a ps2 game but it doesn't recognize that I have a ps2 emulator installed. im running Batocera 5.20 any help is appreciated.

bios missing of conflict on recalbox.config .. try to reset configs from batocera.

för that just choose another HDD on batocera to create the folder recfalbox and replace the resetet recalbox.cfg to the one you have . after that boot batocera and change to the disk again , config gamepad again and try if works .

Hey guys I am also having an issue with ps2
im sure its the bios but the thing is i have all the right bioses, it shows that all are there except one but its in there (naming and MD5 number is correct)

ok i fixed problem above .... turns out the.BIN should be .bin lol
but still doesnt work any suggestions?
