No video on Intel Celeron 540 and batocera 5.20

Hi guys,

I have two Compaq Presario C750BR. One of them is using Batocera 5.19 and working properly. I can't update it, but that will be another thread.

The other notebook has a fresh install of the 5.20 version of Batocera. But the issue is that the display is not working. I've run the support script and got the following message:

I've even changed the HD from the working notebook to this one and worked. The issue is with the version.
Is there a way to fix it without installing the 5.19 version?

I've opened the Xorg.0.log on both computers to check the differences and got this:

On the left is Batocera 5.20. On the right is Batocera 5.19.

For some reason, the new Xorg driver is not able to recognize the internal video card from the CPU.

the mesa drivers were updated. maybe some card support was removed ;-(

Just go in ES Menu, System Settings, Updates and turn off "Auto Updates"

it seems to be a problem with the kernel driver. Could you try to manually load i915 before invoking X?

I tried the 5.21 build and i can reach ES, (configure controller screen, then game selection menu).

Thanks. This also fixes the blank screen and hanging at startup for my setup. Using older Intel HD on board graphics.

As you said. Games and Kodi not loading with this development release. So for now we roll back to 5.19. Till the full release of 5.21.
