Hey ! I tried that because my 960m wouldn't be used even without the # in recalbox-boot.conf
It worked ! Dolphin tells me that it uses it but as soon as I shutdown my system all the changes are gone.
What can I do to keep thoses changes ?

EDIT : Well, it just doesn't work anymore. I tried to make a launch script to make this automatic via /share/system/custom.sh but without success.
Then I tried to do your 99-nvidia.conf trick again via SSH but, again, all I have is a black screen.
I even tried with a fresh new 5.21 standard image neither the "nvidiadriver=true" or the SSH commands work.
I'm really lost and don't know what to do anymore.

In case my laptop is an ACER VN7-791G-71PS and I run a standard batocera 5.21 image on an external HDD.

Edit 2 : The Revenge : I tried, with your Custom 5.21 image. I suppressed the "#" from the "nvidiadriver=true". It black screens. So I followed once again via SSH >99-nvidia.conf etc. And it works again opengl strings says "4.6.0 Nvidia 390.116"

I try to make a custom.sh to make it work at boot but it doesn't work, I'm not really familiar with Linux unfortunatly 🙁

If anyone has a clue I'd like to hear it.

good day!, batocera 5.21 on i3-4170/4gbddr3/nvidia 960gtx/ssd drive, with or without the # in recalbox-boot.conf its the same, gamecube and ps2 lag, slow fps(about 15) audio distortion because of that. I tried to change the video options inside ps2 emu while in game but all checks are grey(like disable).
How can i know if the nvidia driver is working? the 960gtx is NON LEGACY, so it should run without issues by default =(.

Kossay Check System Information in the ES menu. It should say something like 4.8.0 NVIDIA.
If you are using a notebook with a hybrid gpu setup, nvidia-driver does not work out of the box.

poke hi poke!, im using a desktop pc dedicated only for batocera, nothing like dual boot or drive, justo batocera 5.21.
The only thing i see in the information menu lines inside batocera is:
-OPEN GL 4.3(core profile) Mesa 18.2.4.
-my procesor type i3 4170
-cpu number 4
-cpu feature avx2
etc etc...

So emmm i dont know...

When you are using a Nvidia Graphics Card, and you activated nvidia drivers (by removing the # in front of the line #nvidia-driver=true" of the recalbox-boot.conf file), then OPENGL should say: "4.6.0 NVIDIA 418.43" or something like that (so there must be something with "NVIDIA"). Otherwise the drivers are not activated correctly or your card is not supported by the driver.

How did you edit the recalbox-boot.conf? With standard editor/notepad?
Could you post the content of your recalbox-boot.conf file here please?

Otherwise, maybe your graphics card is not supported by the driver integrated in version 5.21. I don't know, maybe @poke can give more info about that.

joinski I use worpad from Windows 10 cause i read that the standar notepad not work. I connect my batocera harddrive to a 2nd pc that i have, and i enter to the OS like if was a secondary hdd, edited, and then take it back to the batocera pc, plug it in, and we are there now. Only 2 lines appears to me in the .ini file

#nvidia-driver=true

I remove the # from the line "nvidia-driver=true" save it, reboot and thats all.
Its a 960gtx from what i read on all the drivers post here its NOT a LEGACY card, so...

poke got it enabled showing nvidia adapter now at the information tab. Now while i was testing the PS2 games, for example with Need For Speed Underground 1, im getting some horizontal lines and the resolution is low, same for the AA filters(if there is one), on a normal race i can barely see the track, its like some kind of horizontal sync failing. Is there a way to improve that on ps2? btw sega dreamcast and gamecube look awesome, better than the original. But PS2, well i dont know....

joinski the monitor is 60hz and im getting 59-60fps so i dont think its that. It's something about the emu cause im losing graphics quality too, i mean acording to some youtube gameplays(in batocera of course pc) they got better image quality. For example dreamcast bro, thats awesome it looks amazing really, better than ps2 and gamecube!

you can change some graphic settings in pcsx2 emulator config, and then see, if the graphic will be better. just press F1 while in ES Menu and navigate to Applications.

My batocera is installed in the internal HDD of the PC, what should I do?

I made a back up copy of the batocera file within the boot directory and deleted the batocera file, the update still says it has no space, I tried to copy the backup back in the original directory and now it says I don't have space for that either and now it doesn't boot WTF.

EDIT: I don't understand what's happening, I'm in Ubuntu, I deleted the batocera file, I have the "show hidden files option" on. I can only see the small files inside the partion, but it says I have 986,2MB of 2,0 Gb available, my original backup batocera file is 991,7 Mb and won't fit, but I can't find what is taking 1061,8 Mb inside the partition so I can free up some space. This linux thing is really complicated...

Ok, so I was able to make it work again by entering ubuntu, formatting the batocera boot partition, manually downloading 5.22 from the link you provided, burn the image to a flash drive and copy the boot directory back to the BATOCERA partition going to grub editor and write a new MBR, unfortunately enabling the NVIDIA driver makes it boot to a black screen and bllinking cursor. I went ahead and redownloaded your previous 5.21 image, made the same procedures and now it's working fine again.

Unfortunately it seems my system doesn't like version 5.22. My GPU is an NVIDIA NVS 310.

Thank goodness my system dualboots to ubuntu, it made life much easier for me.
