I gave it a try on my GTX 560 ti (i3 2120). Worked like a charm!! Now I see what I was missing out! Game Cube and Saturn Games are finally playable.

I tested it with an old Zotac GT 710 Graphics Card. It worked with the standard drivers before, but it seems to be better now. PSX runs flawless with 4x internal resolution now.

A question: Can I use the update function or will this overwrite the legacy driver?

xerxes you can't! Otherwise you will end up with the last nvidia drivers (415.xx)
By the way, GeForce GT 710 is supported by 415.27. Why are you using legacy?

...for two reasons:

It seems that the legacy drivers are a little bit better: Gamecube F-Zero runs almost flawless now and PS2 Silpheed without stuttering (on a Intel i5, 8GB RAM).

I am going to buy a GT 1030, so I will need the legacy driver in the future and I wanted to test the drivers before. But the fact that updates will not work makes me think about this upgrade - will there be legacy driver in the future? At least as "new installments / images"?

xerxes did you enable the nvidia-drivers in batocera before? vanilla ships with nouveau and nvidia-drivers. By default, you get nouveau. You have to enable it following the same procedure (edit recalbox-boot.conf).

This thread has an old version of nvidia-drivers (390.xx or nvidia-driver-legacy).

...yes, I enabled the nvidia driver in the recalbox-boot.conf. As far as I understand are the "official" images of batocera shipped with open source drivers, and the custom built with proprietary drivers from nvidia!?
Like I wrote - the drivers of the custom build seens to work a little bit faster: In Silpheed (PS2) for example I had few stuttering, this is gone now. I should test more games to verify...

If you card is supported, and yours is, you can enable nvidia-driver in the official image. Just edit recalbox-conf.boot.

So I can go on with the official image. But how can I find out that the GT 1030 will be supported? The list here: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/137276/en-us seems to be valid only for the legacy driver - or did I get this wrong?

GameCast you can use the standard batocera image with a 1050. The new and shine nvidia-driver is available. This custom build is older gpus (series 5 and 4). Your card is a series 10. Just upgrade to 5.20 and be happy.

You are the second to use the legacy branch unnecessarily. I guess I need to put a warning in the first post...

Gamecube (test mario kart)
Wii (test mario kart)
PS2 (test DBZ Budokai 3)
most of the rest was ok
now on my Core2Duo 3Ghz 4Go Ram and GT560Ti
saturn / Gamecube / wii run fullspeed
ps2 almost : cpu limit

got issue with multiple output video and need to connect to DVI 1 but after that all good
(if not on good DVI was having high CPU usage and no nv accelaration)

would be very happy to have this version by default

poke i just want confirm the batocera versions 5.19 and 5.20 are working greate whit gtx 1050 .. not necesary to edit recalbox.cfg #nvidia to nvidia ..

GameCast yes, batocera will work ok using the default drivers with 2D emulators. Performance of 3D, like wii and ps2, is much better with nvidia proprietary drivers.

poke i´ve tested the 2 ways whit nvidia and without nvidia , and just got some diferences emulation on 3ds cores. with nvidia configured 3ds runs smootly on some games .
ps2 wii and game cube it runs over open GL dont see some diferences on this emulation systems .

GameCast OpenGL stack on nvidia drivers is better than nouveau/gallium. Anyway, if you are happy with open source drivers, good.

GameCast - your setup seems to be over powered that's why you don't see any diff with or without nvidia drivers 🙂

during your test have you activate FPS to be sure you are not running under fps sometime ?

the most consumming emulator so far is PS2 or 3DS ..

poke overall most user won't see the diff if they have good any configuration but having the most of an hardware help quite a lot and if ps3 emu or wii u emu are going to batocera i'm sure that this will make a diff

When I edited the boot config file. With felting the # the I only got I black screen. I hear the menu sound but nothing else.
