I wonder if I would get a different result if I flashed the batocera image straight to a HDD rather than installing it to a harddrive via the flash stick/install batocera to disk menu option

Hello.
Can I install the nvidia 390 drivers myself on top of an existing batocera with new drivers? There is already a configured flash drive and you do not want to install everything again every time a new version is released. I would like to be able to simply reinstall the nvidia drivers.

Etcher will not write the 5.25 image - says its corrupted. I re-downloaded 5.24 just to see if its not me and it writes fine. Will try update via console I guess.

EDIT: Updated fine via command.

BZZ Just tried to use etcher on macOS. No problem to burn image.

batocera-upgrade https://camargo.batocera.org/nvidia-legacy/upgrades/stable/last/ seems to be really slow. After 2 hours and it's still downloading >>> 15%. Is there a mirror I can use instead?

celofmoreira 540M is supported by 390.xx. Is you setup hybrid (onboard intel and a discrete nvidia gpu? If so, check script batocera-hybrid-nvidia.

i downloaded and installed https://camargo.batocera.org/nvidia-legacy/upgrades/stable/last/

and i've checked that my GT 635M was supported (and it is as written in the link https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/149145/en-us) but when i enable the driver via SSH by using nano to edit the batocera-boot.conf, the pc just hangs (Lenovo Z500 laptop). No video or audio output in either the screen on my tv and in the lcd of the laptop. I tried to troubleshoot a bit, but i can't make it work!

TriaH00 For mobile GPUs, try the batocera-hybrid-nvidia script.
Another option: even if it's listed, nvidia might had removed support for your GPU. See my comment about GT730 in the 1st post.
