Can anyone help me. I need to use this legacy build as I have a gtx560 but cannot understand how? Is there a image file available? I'm not familiar with Linux unfortunately. I've read the how to install but cannot understand. Do I add this once my setup is running?

Just use the batocera-upgrade script
ssh to your machine where you installed batocera on and type in:

batocera-upgrade https://camargo.batocera.org/nvidia-legacy/upgrades/stable/last/

Or download the image-file (the big .img.gz file) from the link and flash it on a new USB flash drive with Etcher (same way like new installation)

Hi @poke i have a laptop using nvidia 940MX, i enabled the nvidia driver but it showed in my system information is Open GL Mesa (my intel onboard), i also tried on my desktop using gtx 1080 and it work perfect. So which version of Batocera shuold i install to my laptop to enabled my 940MX (i using standard batocera 5.25)

Also fwiw I installed the GTX 1070 from my main PC and it works as intended with the newest build. I'll re install the GTX 560 and report back if the legacy install works

Again sorry for being so illiterate with Linux. When I go to to the first page i can only see "source code" to download which is basically zip file that doesn't work in etcher. Am I missing something. Is it possible someone can post a link to the image I need? Thank you

Hey @poke, thanks for providing this build. But I have a GTS 250 which last driver is 340.108 https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/156163/en-us and the card its pretty fast, and nouveau drivers arent that good/fast. Is there any possibility to make a 340.108 build for really legaciER cards? it would even support old but fast graphic cards!

matcarfer Yes, but i will not do it. Not interested (I don't have how to test it).

There is a list of compatible gpus, the ones that do not appear in the list, what version of batocera do you have to download?

Kenzo Just use the standard image with the nouveau drivers.

Hi. I tried to make your project. I used the config file configs/batocera-x86_64_defconfig. But the driver for nvidia for some reason took version 440. How to build it with version 390? (I want to try replacing it later with version 340.108 for the ION video card)

ArchyBaldd Get the right branch: nvidia-legacy. It will not be a simple change. glvnd is not supported in 3.40 and you have to find the right patches for kernel 5.x.

I have an Nvidia Optimus setup running the latest 5.26 beta and I setup my install as mentioned. The emulationstation screen is loading but when I start games from ES the screen blanks and then returns to ES. However if I use F1 to get a desktop session then I can launch PCSX2 and start games with no problems... and it runs fast on my nvidia card.
What could be happening here?

poke Hi bro, if I can help to test nvidia-340.108 Im ready to do, Im using nouveau driver and it’s fine but it’s not deducted hdmi audio, also there is no option to pair Bluetooth speaker ☹️.

I found this. And in file there are many patches in the folder "debian\module\debian\patches\". But you need to understand what they do and which ones should be applied
