5.20 not work ...please help ......

Hello. I have never had a problem with the 5.19 version of the laptop before. then I installed version 5.20 but it did not work. It didn't work again when I updated from 5.19 to 5.20. my computer only supports x86_64 version. What could be the source of this problem?

computer specifications:

Inspiron N5030 : RETAIL ONLY Pentium Dual Core T4500(2.30GHz,800MHz,1MB
Hard Drive : 320GB Serial ATA (5400RPM)
Graphics : Intel GMA 4500MHD
Display : 15.6in High Definition (1366X768) WLED
Memory : 4 GB(2 x 2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel

ottohlc did you download the OLD version or the Standart Version?
for this pc specs you need the iso of the OLD version . Cause if you download the standart version will stock on black screen , maibe some drives incompatibilities .

I cannot access the log file. it comes from the black screen initially. program is not progressing

-5.19 (x86) version was installed on the black screen.
-5.19 (x86_64) version is working perfectly.
-5.20 standard and old versions do not work in any way.

i m launching the batocera. Then alt + f3 key combination of the following writings on the screen.

mount : mounting LABEL = BATOCERA on /boot_root failed : no such file or directory

I tried it too. I installed version 5.19 (x86_64) later, but it didn't work. Can the source of the problem be processor or video card incompatibility? I'm waiting for the new version of Batocera.

ottohlc were you able to connect via ssh? If so, could you please send us the complete log archive and not just recalbox.log?

ottohlc yep incompatibility isues.. like i mentioned before . you need to stay on 5.19 ..

or just du this simples steps .

download the last stable version for 86 and 64.
http://batocera-linux.xorhub.com/upgrades/x86_64/stable/last/

download the file boot.tar.xz
a file .tar.xz is like a .zip. Just unzip this file on your sdcard/usb key to replace existing files.

Or, starting with batocera.linux 5.19,

from ssh, adapt the url and run : /recalbox/scripts/recalbox-upgrade.sh https://batocera-linux.xorhub.com/upgrades/x86_64/stable/last

This upgrades the system. This doesn't remove any of your data.

Once copied, you'll get 2 files recalbox.img and recalbox.img.update. The latter will replace the first one automatically during the next boot.

thanks my friend . I installed version 5.19 (x86_64), then I downloaded the boot.tar.xz file into the usb with the winzip program. I restart the computer but the batocera did not work again. I plugged the same usb into another computer it works there. 🙁

thank you for everything. I will now wait for a new version to appear. I tried this method and the installation was successful, but the batocera was still on the black screen. 5.20 version worked on a lot of laptop

I think my laptop is old. The lap top can only run version 5.19 (x86). When I install the version 5.20 (x86) to the laptop, it gives me the errors I shared on the link.

wait a litle more if wont work you need to stay on 5.19 . or download the OLD ISO NOT STANDART .

I tried all the versions but it was only 5.19 version. batocera gave the following error in version 5.20-x86-20190117.

batocera 5.21-x86_64-20190131 version is working but games are not working.

ottohlc ok if this batocera version is working,. use this, is a solution for that ..,

Example
1 - boot batocera .
2 - go to system and choose another HDD reboot. if you use HDD F: change to C . it will create a new recalbox folder on C drive.
3 - on F drive delete all files from recalbox only deserve the roms and bios .
4 - transfer the recalbox folder from C to F .
5 - boot batocera and chooge again drive F and after reboot it will detecte games and run .,
that is config files conflict cause that you are no able to run games . and if games wont boot you are not able to du a reset over retroarch ,.cause that you need create a new recalbox folder to fix this conflict wiht config files .

this method did not happen. I tried it with the files of version 5.19 but again the games didn't open. hopefully this bug will be resolved without leaving the official version of 5.21.

ottohlc that is the problem you are using configs from 5.19 on 5.20 !!

for 5.20 you need create a new clean reclabox folder and just replace there bios and roms from 5.19 folder . or just the 5.20 recalbox.config file to the 5.19 folder .
