PS4 Controller, keeps showing up as 2 controllers.

I tried almost everything, I can get it to work just fine but it has issues in PSP, PSP and PC-Engine.

The issue is in wireless mode, it sees the controller has two controllers.

1) wireless controller
2) wireless sensor

I tried this with a normal Bluetooth controller and it only showed up as 1 in wireless mode.

The ONLY way i can get the PS4 controller to work in wireless mode is to plug it in, reboot and hope by chance the controller gets set to the 1 position then remove the cable and power on the controller. But you have to do it again if you reboot the system.

Help me understand how to get this to work properly, I even removed everything but 1 controller in the input config and it still does it.

Had the same problem. Try an v2 controller.

You can change in controller settings to Input#0 for older systems (using d-pad only). Set Input#1 for newer system (PS2, Gamecube, PSP, Wii, N64)

In FBA, if you set your controller to Input#1, it will be Player 2. Set it to Input#0 for Player1

Hi, that's an issue with the motion sensors being recognized as a second controller. You can disable that feature with some code.
Follow this solution https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/2436 after creating the file, update your overlay with this code:
/recalbox/scripts/recalbox-save-overlay.sh.

CoinTraderSV I too have this problem but I have a blue V2 controller, I will try to test your tip. I'm #2 to ES input
