Not bootable disk

Hello everyone, I would like some help with batocera linux.
I'm trying to use it on my old Acer laptop with my 4GB USB stick, I downloaded the x86_32bit img from the batocera's website and flashed it on the USB stick with Etcher, then I plugged the USB stick on the laptop, changed the boot order to USB but... nothing happens, just displays a message: "This is not a bootable disk. Please instert a bootable floppy and press any key to try again..." then if any key is pressed, it boots on Windows...
There's any solution for this problem?
Laptop specs:
Acer Aspire 5315
Intel Celeron processor 540
1GB DDR2

FensBK check the manual of your device to know how to access the boot option, because if even going into the bios and changing there to usb and not start you might have to disable the quick start of the notebook.

VaGNaroK I disabled the quick start and enabled the boot selector menu from the bios but still doesn't work.
I also tested on my old UEFI laptop from 2014 and it works perfectly on there.

FensBK so we already know that it is some configuration in your notebook that does not fill the pendrive.

VaGNaroK I updated the BIOS of the system from 1.29 to the latest version on the Acer's website (2008/12/08V1.45) but the update didn't solved the problem.

FensBK I'm having this same issue with my Acer netbook. Weird thing is, on a second, slightly older Acer netbook it works.

try another usb stick and/or port, sometimes they can act a bit funny and some usb storage devices will simply not boot on some computers.

prueba con el Plop Boot Manager, lo descomprimes y la iso la grabas en un cd. luego en el pc pon que arranque desde el cd... te inicia el programa.. seleccionas usb,previamente pon el usb en su sitio y listo.

EDITADO: A pesar de todo sigue sin poder iniciar desde el disco duro :/

Iḿ having the same problem. I installed Batocera on an HDD using another PC, but when I connect the disk to the computer that's failing, it displays the same message and does not boot at all. So it's not a BIOS thing, it just doesn't want to boot to a Linux OS for some reason.

EDIT: I booted to Linux Mint to verify and it had no problems. I'm going to flash Batocera with Rufus to see if anything changes.

Is it looking for a floppy drive or do you have it disabled. And is it on legacy or the other boot option ?

Same issue on acer aspire 5720. I tried x86 and x64 doesn't work. On another PC it works fine. Any idea how to solve the problem.
PS I tried to write it by rufus - no help

asprie 5720 is a very old device with Intel GMA X3100.
maybe this old hardware is not supported by the drivers that batocera has included?

Hi everyone, I have also an Acer aspire 5315 and I have same problem. Bootable disk not found. I tried starting with Yumi like I was going to install a 3rd os and then removed the pen drive to use hard drive again (where I have batocera as main drive). I got this msg: there is no MBR Magic, disk will be used as raw. Then booting and I waited for an hour and nothing. Have anyone been able to fix this issue? Thanks
