Question about drivers and input lag

Pardon my ignorance, but I've found about batocera and I loved it in the few minutes I've played around with it. There's one thing that's been bugging me, I found no mention of dispmanx in the drivers which is said to reduce input lag by 1 frame compared to the default GL driver. Is it "off" in batocera? If yes, is it possible to "install" it? Maybe the openGL driver is now as fast as the dispmanx driver and that's the reason it's not there anymore?

kenny batocera whitout open GL will not run the cores wo are suported by opengl .you just need to have the same gl or above on your pc ,.

Best option to reduce input lag is the RunAhead feature of RetroArch.
But on a RPi i suggest to disable rewind and overclock it a bit. Otherwise you may experience stutters on some games, with RunAhead enabled.

A quick update. I edited the retroarchcustom.cfg and added a video_driver=dispmanx to it, later through ssh I edited max intervals nd frame delay but I could NEVER make retroarch to permanently turn off video_threaded. Every time I launched it it would reset to ON, but the rest of my options stayed the same (saving the current configuration in retroarch also didn't work). My guts tell me it's something to do with dispmanx support. Also I noted that whenever I disabled video_threaded any save/ load state would be super slow. I really don't know what to do now.

I haven't but I do know that it works well on light stuff, like the NES. BTW I just gave up trying to solve this thing, video_threaded is on forever 🙁 Thanks for the help though!
