Batocera broke my PC!

I'm using a HP laptop with Windows 10. I installed batocera, but it just kept hanging on the loading screen. I reset, removed my thumb drive, now it doesn't even boot Windows. I checked and made sure everything is back to factory defaults, still gives me an error on boot. Nothing I do repairs it. I used to be a lot more tech savvy, but I had a Traumatic brain injury, and I'm not as tech savvy anymore. I tried to reset to factory settings, but still no luck. I am at a loss, nothing I do is working and it seems it's just bricked. Any suggestions?

Well, still no reply, apparently I just bricked my laptop. Installing this program is one of the biggest mistakes I made. I wish I never even heard of this program. BATOCERA BROKE MY SYSTEM!!!

when booting on the key, batocera never touches your hard drive. batocera cant break it.

that is not a problem of batocera.. i use batocera since years and never get some pc brocken !!

I'm guessing he tried to install to the internal hardrive and it messed up the partitions?

I only have it installed on a thumb drive. I made no other changes, just installed batocera. I don't know what else happened, but now Windows will not boot.

Liveone74 Simple, windows being windows. Batocera installed on the pendrive does not touch the partitions what may have happened was user misuse of something and broke windows, and as windows is already known for not having there so much security gave in what gave.

Liveone74 How are you doing for broken system?
If you just inject USB KEY to tryout and can't boot system when remove USB KEY:
just check your first boot are your harddrive on Mainboard BIOS Config.
If your are use 'INSTALL BATOCERA' on Batocera's main menu:
All filesystem seens crashed,you can try to use some Linux's Live CD(like Manjaro) for USB KEY to seen have anything can copy out?I think maybe all partition is crashed.If nothing to copy out,take a USB KEY and another Windows computer,go Microsoft HP to download MediaCreationTool,make a installer and use it to boot your system.When your system boot on Windows Installer,refdisk your disk partition and click "I don't have CD-KEY" to continue install Windows.If you not sure how to do for install Windows,use your Mobile Phone and search on Google(or Bing,whatever).
You are take a useful lesson,bro.Do not try to install any system on your main disk,and try to distinguish someone are Program or System.

I did not try or even thought about installing anything on my main disk. I just give up, thanks for the help though guys, at least you tried. I didn't install anything but batocera on a thumb drive. That was the only thing that changed. I didn't install anything but the installation program, I forget it's name, but it's the one they suggest. I'm just going to get a new laptop, mine cannot launch Windows. Thanks, but I'm done with batocera, it's not worth the headache.

Have you tried the following? load up Bob.Ombs WinPE on a USB then plug it into the computer and boot to it then download CrystalDiskInfo Portable and run it. This should diagnose your Drive and see if its starting to fail. also that WinPE image has tools to repair existing windows installs.

you should check your boot keys, newer BIOSes use security keys to validate boot media. Maybe you corrupted those keys while trying to use batocera.
