Hi, first I want to say amazing project. Absolutely loving it. Turned my old laptop from a paperweight with no harddrive to an emulation machine using an SD card. Very awesome for systems my Raspberry Pi 2 can't handle. (namely Dreamcast, Gamecube N64 and hopefully PS2)
Anyway, on to my question: I was trying to play Dragon Quest 8 on PS2 and I'm getting just below playable performance. 20-40 frames most of the time but since it is a 60FPS game that makes everything seem slow, especially the audio.
Is there anything I can do to improve performance? I have tried lowering the resolution but I'm not sure if it even stuck and if it did it didn't seem to have any impact on performance. I found the config file in share/system/configs/PCSX2 but I don't see anything in there that would affect performance.
Is there another config file somewhere, and if so, what settings should I input to improve performance? Is there a way to get into the emulator's settings themselves?
I also just noticed that my laptop wasn't plugged in (it just shutdown lol) so perhaps running off of battery was limiting its performance?
As for my specs, I haven't used this PC in years so I kind of forget. I know it has a quad core AMD A10 but I can't remember what its set at (I'll check once my PC charges a bit if anyone thinks it'll be important) and has a built in graphic card with (I think) 1GB of RAM. The laptop itself has, I think, 8GBs of RAM.
If there is no way to improve performance, it's no big deal, I still have plenty to play with Gamecube and Dreamcast working great, but DQ8 is a long ass game and I was hoping to play it in bed without waking my girlfriend (the TV connected to my desktop would be too bright and loud).
Again, thanks for this awesome project and for any help!
