Strange sound problem

I have a very strange sound problem on 5.20.
I loaded today all my bios/roms on an external disk partition and started from a fresh burned 5.20 image.
As long as I stay in ES for /recalbox/share the selection "INTERNAL" I have sound in ES front and games (the few on the stick)
Now if I switch to my external disk partition, I have no sound in ES and games anymore.
But switching back to "INTERNAL" sound is again there. You can repeat this game eternally.
But in the /recalbox/share folder there is nothing to influence the sound shutdown, as I know.
recalbox.conf on external has the audio interface enabled, and correspond with the internal recalbox.conf

Now, it was nowhere sound, also not in Kodi. I finally decided to delete the /recalbox/ folder completely and after creation on the same partition by 5.20, rebuild it from backups. At this moment, bios, roms are copied back, and sound is there. I will try to find the mysterious origins from this failure.
