Colecovision Not Launching

I've loaded coleco games, and they appear in the list. But the games won't launch. I have the bios file, "ColecoVision BIOS (1982).col", and I put that into the BIOS location, with the others. But still no luck. I also tried renaming to just "coleco.rom", but that didn't work either...

Need to re-fresh this old topic. I am currently in the same boat. I've tried files in ZIP / BIN / ROM formats and none worked. All my bios are up to date and in the right folders. Screen goes to black for a second when starting game and then back to game selection menu.

EDIT1: I've also just tried COL extension also not working. And checked my bios MD5 that corresponds to 2c66f5911e5b42b8ebe113403548eee7.

I remember not getting that to work at first.

It requires a set of roms. I dont remember where I got them from but the folder in the BIOS folder was called "MACHINES".

Inside that folder had many folders from "COL", "MSX", "MSX2", "SEGA SG1000".

Anyways, the folders for COLECO-VISION were "COL - ColecoVision" and "COL - ColecoVision with Opcode Memory Extension". Inside both of those folders was the "COLECO.ROM" and a "CONFIG.INI" file. I tried just having the COLECO.ROM alone in those folders, it didn't work. It needed the CONFIG files.

You can probably find it if you search.

UPDATE: Theres a link for an official full stand-alone BlueMSX emualtor that includes the needed files on the LIBRETRO page. https://docs.libretro.com/library/bluemsx/

If you get that, just copy the MACHINES folder and everything inside to your BIOS folder.

I was having the same issue described as originally posted. I can confirm that downloading blueMSXv282full in zip file format as described by @bryceone from https://docs.libretro.com/library/bluemsx/ extracting it and then copy the entire Machines directory to the bios folder solves the issue. It also solved the same issue for the MSX system.
