WiFi not works always

Hello!, i habe batocera installed on my Raspberry Pi 3

I connect to my wifi (at home) and works.

When i go to a friends house with my raspberry put all the wifi fields and never conects. Any wifi works only mine.
Any fix?

My friend, I have the same problem, but on the contrary: in my house the wi-fi does not connect at all .. already in other places, it connects normally.

In my case, I have a TP-LINK WR740N router and it does not connect at all (I've already changed the SSID name, I've already changed the password, I've already left it open ...) I did not get it at all.

Strange that, in my girlfriend's house, it has the same router model, which I configured the same way as mine, and there my raspberry connects normally.

Everything leads to believe that my router has some problem to connect to raspberry Pi 3 by wifi.

If your router is of this model, I recommend switching or testing with another to see ....

Check for updates on your router, and try to power cycle it?

KryPtAlIvIaN I try everything. On my house works, in my bother house works fine... and in my sisters house says "Not connecting"...

cap_supositorio I was able to solve my problem by changing some options on the router:

In wi-fi settings I left:

Channel: Automatic
Bandwidth: Automatic

This solved my problem .... router TP-LINK WR740N

1) can you check the content of the file /var/lib/connman/recalbox.config
2) can you run the following commands :
connmanctl disable wifi
connmanctl enable wifi
connmanctl scan wifi
connmanctl service

and see what happend.

I have a módem arris ... I dont have the passwords of the módem.

Sorry been so busy. Usually you will find a sticker on the modem/router that has the admin and password. Otherwise check google for a default un/pw for the device.

My problem is that the Wifi password seems to change by itself...
My proccess to make my raspberry connect is:
1- Turn of Wifi
2- Leave the network settings
3- Go back to network setting, set the wifi password (it is 0102030405)
4- Turn on wifi.
Repeat until it connects.
In step 4 the saved password is always different, being the previously saved password with a few random chars in the beginning.

About the connection happening after a few retries... any tips?

can you confirm that you're not too far from your internet box ?
i should check the configruation about the number of tries done and perhaps make more tries on the wifi connection.

retry sometimes because of a bug that i don't know, it doesn't work on the first time.

Difference between 2.4GHz / 5GHz bands? Does RasPi wifi support 5GHz band in wifi module? If router is configured only for latter band, it will prevent wifi from connecting up.

as far as i remember somebody told that wpa or wpa2 or one of the protocols is not supported

Finally works!
tips:
1) works only with WPA2 ( for auth mode);
2) if you doen't work using batocera/recalbox frontend ( my case), You must setup the recalbox.conf ( using command line), save it (control + x) and retart (shutdown - r now) .

3) have fun 🙂 !

Wooud you explain more where I can change WPA or WPA2? I dont know very well about this.
I saw that it have worked. In another topic, somebody sad that WPA can be changed in the security. But, secuity of what? Batocera conf or modem/rout?
