The batocera does not have multitap for ps1?

I tried to play bomberman ps1 with four friends, even with the possibility for four players in the game. the batocera only appeared for two players.

It is possible to play PS1 with 4 (or even 5) players.
You have to set the right Emulator Core (mednafen or pcsx_rearmed) and in RetroArch Quick Menu (press Hotkey + B within a game to enter) you have to set specific options/settings.
I can't remember which core and which setting it was exactly.
When i'm at home later (i'm at work right now) i will have a look and then i can tell you the steps, you have to do, do make it possible to play with 4/5 players.

Okay, now i found some time to check again, how to enable multitap in PSX, so that you can play with more than 2 Players simultaniously.
And here is what i done:

Go to RetroArch Quick Menu by pressing Hotkey + B (on Playstation-Controller B = X) while in game.
Then go to Options and change "Pad 1, 2, 3 etc. Type" from "default" to "standard" and Multitap 1 to "enabled".
Restart Game and now it should work with more than 2 Players.

i note to test and enable it auotmatically in case more than 2 pads are plugged

this is what i do for snes. if only 1 or 2 pads are plugged, i don't enable it because it causes some issues on some games on snes fro example.

Multiplayer with SNES works right out of the box. Just tested it with 3 PS3 controllers in Super Bomberman 3 🙂

Hi, I apologize for reliving this thread again.

I am in 5.26, but neither with this nor with previous ones do more than two controls work on PSX, I enter retroarch and enable multitap and all controls in standard, restart and it does not take any control, I must return to retroarch and disable multitap so that one and two take control of me again, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but I just can’t, can they give me a light? Could you try this:

Connect more than 2 Controllers to your system
Start a PSX multiplayer Game for more than 2 players (for example Micro Maniacs, which can be played up to 8 players)
While in Game press Hotkey + B to open RetroArch Quick Menu and then go to Options and turn Multitap ON
Go back to RetroArch Main Menu and then choose Quit RetroArch (do not exit the Game via Hotkey + Start!)
Then start the Game again and test, if all players work

It is exactly that I did, but nothing, System recognize joystyck just if I exit and in again, but other games not recognize then, just I must configure without multitap and reboot and recogize until 2 players again.

sorry, i don’t understand what you wrote (bad english).

with those steps i described above, i could play multiplayer games up to 8 players on PSX.
i was even able to reproduce it several times with fresh new installations of batocera 5.26

so i don’t know, what is wrong on your side.
