Batocera x64 won't boot.

Hi all.
I'm new to batocera, so I could write something stupid.
I have a mini pc of Beelink (model x45 premium) with Intel Gemini Lake J4105 / RAM 6GB / SSD128 and I would like to install batocera.
Downloaded latest x64 image, burn it with etcher, but it won't boot up (first directly to the ssd and then to the USB drive too). So I tried with Rufus (I had some problems with etcher before while burning windows 10), but nothing.
Checked the bios if the secure boot and fast boot was disabled, and them was.
So, I don't know if my problem it's related to the MBR or UEFI, or some hardware incompatibility.
Does anyone have an idea?!

Update: tried with the beta 5.21 too but it's the same.

if you have CSM option , try to activate, on my leptop i had this deactivated and i could not boot from usb .i just activate it and run like a charm .

do you have the choice in the bios between uefi and legacy ? if yes, choose legacy.

Perhaps at a certain moment somebody could look at this EFI boot, that seems to me a major problem for some BIOS.
A solution could be to take it from Ubuntu, as this member was showing his way

lbrpdx Pour ma part, j'ai remplacé un Raspberry Pi3 par Gigabyte Brix https://www.gigabyte.com/Mini-PcBarebone/GB-BLCE-4105-rev-10#ov qui est basé sur un J4105, et j'ai dû faire face au même problème de boot EFI.

Avant de tomber sur cette page, le workaround pour moi était de récupérer le bootx64.efi d'Ubuntu server 18.10, et de remplacer celui de Batocera. Je viens de me faire avoir à l'upgrade en 5.20 qui a remplacé tout le répertoire EFI. Je n'ai pas testé le zip de Dragu mais il me semble qu'une update pour la prochaine version de Batocera ne serait pas du luxe 🙂

Avec ce mini-PC en J4105, les jeux Dreamcast tels que Soulcalibur tournent vraiment bien (quasi full speed). La PS1 est très bien émulée aussi (mais l'était tout autant avec RetroPie). Je n'ai pas encore réussi à faire fonctionner ma Dolphin bar et ma wiimote, donc n'ai pas pu tester la Wii, ni même la GC. Essentiellement par manque de temps et de connaissance des fichiers de config de Batocera (s'il y a des pointeurs sur des docs pour la Dolphin bar, je suis preneur!).

Go onto the game selection and push Select, this takes you to the game metadata where you can change the mame core corresponding to your romset. But also sometimes you must adapt the romset. Most there is a solution.
For the cabinet frame you must use virtual screwdriver, 🙂 But if you install 5.20 stable, you should have no active bezels ?

now, the unique problem i have is that some mame roms that works on my retropie are not working with batocera.
for example wonder bot in monster land..
i really don't understand where the problem is and why some roms works and some other no..

Dragu 😂 "virtual screwdriver" 😜 anyway, works with libreto and meme 0178 but I can't remove the cabinet frame 😩 (batocera 5.21).
Another problem that I have is that the wifi was connected the first time and then I can't connect anymore. Tried to disable and renable it, remove and put it again the ssid, remove and put again the password, but nothing 😩

Better to use 5.20 for the moment, 5.21 is always beta, so just for testing and not yet released, so also without maintenance.
With the password, as I dont use 5.21 for the moment, I cannot tell you. What is possible, that you put the password and didnt looked if some crazy letters stay on the left of the entry (from the encrypted password) So better to put the cursor at the end to the left to be sure that no garbage is in this corner together with your clean password.

Dragu exactly what it is! I deleted the password because there was some crazy letter at the beginning on the left, put the correct one and nothing. So, I went to see the password again and was changed again! 😲

I want to answer this for EVERYONE. You must create a Batocera USB using an operating system that reads GPT partitions. Such as WIndows 10 using GPT. This boot issue is a UEFI - GPT issue. Thus Windows 7 or Windows 8 is not going to work. Also, any installs using MBR style format will NOT work. Try installing or etching using Windows 10 with GPT or from Linux. Short Answer = Use Windows 10. :) (Also you can Check partitions -> Use Gparted) –Welcome–
