Running Plex Media Server (PMS) as a service on Batocera

Is it possible to install pms as a service on batocera? I know there is the Kodi addon, but i mean the actual pms as a service.

Kugelblitz I intent on running only old school systems like master system, mega drive e snes, probably with no filters and whatsover. Nevertheless i would be the only using the batocera / plex ms, so it woudnt happen to the system being used by two people at the same time. exemple: me playing an emulator and other person streaming a movie from a plex client at the same time.

They provide packages for fedora, ubuntu e freebsd. but i dont know based on what distro batocera is built

Why would you run a Media Server and Indexing Service constantly in the background of a machine that is optimized for emulation foreground apps? Running anything unneccessary in the background can introduce lag and stutter during gameplay. I fail to see the point of making Batocera do things it explicitly is NOT built for.

Yeah, I understand but then you would be better off installing a small full Linux Distribution. The Beauty of Batocera is that it is focused on Emulation (and media Playback via Kodi which I do not care for either) and want to do that specific Thing really well. Once you integrate something like Plex you Need to care for many more dependencies. Batocera is running Buildroot (same as Recalbox) and there was a Project to get PMS running on recalbox that was stopped two years ago: https://github.com/LaurentMarchelli/recalbox-rasplex

Well, I was also testing baltocera and it is really a good system, BUT, in the mini pc (ryzen 2400g) it is also necessary to install my plex server, so for the moment I'm going back to ubuntu.
