More FPS with Batocera 5.21

Hello everyone
This is my configuration, CPU: intel i3 7100, GPU: msi GTX970 and Batocera v. 5.21 installed on a ssd M.2
I can't run psx roms with better graphics because the fps drop down .
I use madfen core.
FPS don't go up than 27.88 , is possible go higher?
Maybe are my hardware wrong?

I would like advice to configure better graphic without FPS drop

Vinix maybe it's not the hardware, enable the nvidia driver in the configuration file? and it may be that the emulator needs more optimizations from the developer to improve, an example is citra is a good emulator more need to be refined to run better.
