changing hostname results in system not booting

if i change the hostname in emulationstation or in recalbox.conf the system will boot to black screen.
if this is changed, system will not boot on pc or raspberry.
hostname must be:

system.hostname=BATOCERA

change it back in recalbox.conf and the system will boot normally again.

i had some time to test again last night and for some reason it works now ... i did not try on my pi yet, but i will try it later today if i have some time.

not sure what you are trying to say, but iirc putty is for windows and not something i need or want, sorry.

its wierd, becourse i somehow managed to change my raspberry to BATOCERAPi, but now i cannot change it again

I was testing this bug from 5.20 in 5.21 x86 64 and the bug was corrected. Now for other platforms I dont know.
To save your installation on black screen, there is a way. Because at this point network is already loaded. So you will arrive to connect by putty with hostname "BATOCERA"/name root/password linux. Into putty you change (nano) inside recalbox.conf the hostname from"myhostname" back to "BATOCERA" and reboot. Your system will work normally again.

I am not trying, I know. 🙂 This is possible with both half of Cerebrum.
Read a little about SSH and how to use it, in IT there is no end in learning. 😉
