i see what is going on in the code, the code basicly ignores keypress and activates on release (or combo?), which makes it impossible to use these keys for anything else.
but i dont understand why implement combo keys like this, instead of just using the "special button" in emulationstation?

could you guys maybe add some keys to they code so they can be remapped either via xarcade controller or maybe add an option to ignore the hardcoded combo keys and activate the key on keypress instead of keyrelease?
