gamecube and dreamcast not working? i5 4430s, Asus H81M-Plus

Hi all,

very new to all this and linux so dont have a clue whats going wrong.

I originally set up batocera batocera as a test on an old 3rd gen i3 3220 & a MSI H61M-P31 mobo (no GPU) & everything worked great, game cube and dreamcast no problems, the only thing I didnt like about that mobo was that it didnt have HDMI out on it. so i couldnt use it on my living room tv as intended.

I had another 4th gen motherboard knocking around with a HDMI out on it, Asus H81M-Plus so decided to use that insted, I built and installed the system in exactly the same way but this time i used an i5 4430s processor. however on this spec system i cannot for the life of me get gamecube or dreamcast working?

when I load a game the screen goes black, then a quick flicker, then goes straight back to the game list.

I have all nessasary bios files installed for dreamcast, and I know the iso's\GDI files are good as they work fine on my i3 3220

could anyone possiby point me in the right direction as to what i need to check

OPENGL: 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 18.2.4

GTR Do you have Sound? For Dreamcast and Gamecube you need to activate sound first, i believe.

Thanks so much for that suggestion! It worked!

The screen I had plugged in didn’t have any speakers so I wasn’t expecting to hear any sound while I was setting it up, but yes activating the sound corrected the issue of it going straight back to the game list. Thanks so much.
