How to fix bios for Atari 800 and 5200 definitely for both systems?

I do not know a way to fix Bios Atari 800 and 5200, because if saved to one is saved to the 2 systems and every time have to go in the settings and modify!

The problem is that in the configuration file "retroarch-core-options.cfg" the 2 systems are not separate, and therein the problem in this!

Example:

Batocera makes this modification when the game starts, if you are starting a game in the Atari 5200 emulator it changes to 5200 and to 800XL if it is the Atari 800.

The two emulators use the same core (atari800) and this change is made when the game is started by Batocera or during execution through the RetroArch menu.

jdorigao Exactly, they use the same core and that is why there is only a single configuration for the 2, so when I choose Bios Atari 5200 it is also used for the Atari 800 and there are the big problems because it has Atari games 800 that do not accept Bios Atari 5200.

Ps: This happens also with Colecovision and MSX, but there is the option of "Auto Detect" as well so the system identifies what type of game is running and calls the corresponding bios, that is what must exist for the Atari 800 and 5200.

The Atari800 core has the following option(s) that can be tweaked from the core options menu. The default setting is bolded. Settings with (Restart) means that core has to be closed for the new setting to be applied on next launch.

jdorigao My friend, I know that the Core of the Atari800 can be adjusted and selected in the retroarch options menu, the correct one that should exist is the solution that exists in Bluemsx and Colecovision, unfortunately in this way now that the Atari800 is awful, change Bios whenever you change the system, how bad that!

Ps.: Operating this way, I do not know why they did the separation, because the truth that the separation was only from the directories because the execution system continues the same the 2 systems in 1 only!

Can't get 5200 games to run. Can't we install the kat5200 core ?

For atari 800 games only cartridges .com or .bin work, not .atr disk images.
How can I fix that ?

EVD I have the opposite problem. My ATK Mario Bross works no problem on 800 but Donkey Kong BIN is dead. I dont use it often enough to play with it, only tried to see what the result would be. I assume its either a bad rom or need to tweak some settings to get it to run.

Kat5200 - https://kat5200.jillybunch.com/ - if anyone is interested. It seems there was no update since 1st January 2018 and so it seems it is no longer supported by creator. However I still see the benefit of having this integrated into Batocera as alternative to existing emulation options.
