Can i run batocera with PIV 2.4-1GB ddr and Nvidia FX550 256MB AGP

Hi all, this is my first post but i spent a lot of time reading and testing batocera for a long. Excuse me my inglish, i from Spain.

I have some old hard like piv that i wanto to re-used for install batocera, i tried x86 version, all was great in installation and the system go up, but its extremeley slow, like a 5 fps, in menu and in game like nes, snes, megadrive, mame, etc

I think this hard can run this emus perfectly, in windows xp it can without problem, why in batocera not?? Its something with the drivers? i have some nvidia and ati graphic cards for 64mb to 256mb and no one runs ok, i edited the batocera conf enable the nvidia drivers and run slow too.

Its something to do with this hard and batocera or i need a more powerfull pc? Some old versions of batocera could works nice?

Seems like your Pentium IV with Nvidia FX550 are too old/slow and/or not supported by the drivers integrated in Batocera.
So you better use more modern hardware.

Some people tell me that they ran Batocera in a piii antes piv, maybe with and old release if Batocera? Can i donwload from some site?

Here you can find older versions of batocera x86:

Within every sub-folder you find the image-file with ".img.gz" extension (which you could flash to your usb-drive via Etcher), the boot.tar.xz file (which you only need to extract to a usb-drive, where you flashed a batocera-image before and just overwrite existing files -> this way you can easily down- or upgrade to any other version you want) and the recalbox.version file (just click on it and it shows you the version number of batocera... for the folder "20170317" for example, it is batocera version "5.4 2017/03/17 07:14".

But i guess it could be your GPU (nvidia FX 550) which maybe is not supported by batocera.
Therefore you should try with other GPU, if you could get one somehwere (maybe from another old PC).
Your Motherboard probly only has an old AGP-Socket for GPUs right? I do not know, if there are any graphic cards out there with this socket, which are supported by Batocera.
Maybe other users have a suggestion for you?

HI joinsk, thx for the link, i will try some old versions of batocera tu test my hard, and yes, i have 5 or 6 graphic cards with agp that i want to test if it work.

Nothing, batocera need at least dual core and 2gb ram to run fine in the menu, less than these go lagged.
