Clean new install

Hello,

I recently installed Batocera on a HDD and after playing with the settings through the main ES menu N64, Dreamcast and GameCube do not work. I deleted all the config file and cache files accessible through windows over the network but this didn’t help. I am looking to just do a clean install by connecting a USB, booting from here and then choosing install on a separate disk. Is this the best way to carry out a fresh ‘installation’. I’m not worried about games being deleted.

Does your sound work?
Because i believe that those emulators (N64, Dreamcast and Gamecube) do not work, as long as you did not select the proper Audio Output Device.

you need to create a new recalbox folder or batocera folder. for that just choose another HDD on systems config, after that batocera will reboot in batocera again with anothe HDD configured.
boot windows and delete all from the old reclabox folder but not the roms and bios folders thos you need to replace on the new recalbox folder did you created before .. and just replace the new recalbox folder wo was the older one, boot batocera choose the last HDD did you used and voilá clean ..

Ok managed all of that and actually now most things work. However, cannot get sound. Have tried every device, restarted and no luck. I tried AUTO, CUSTOM, HDMI0, HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3, ACS...

Then I tried:

CTRL + ALT + F4

At this stage I had no idea what I was doing but pressing ‘,’ seemed to switch the 4 S/PDIF’s on. However I then have no way to seemingly exit this screen.

Any help appreciated!

JonHurdle choose your audio card .. pressing F6 .and activ from 00 to M or viceversa with M keyboard key .
after that go back on the sound devices and activ your sound device with M key and ensance the volume ..exit from sound config, and choose HDM0 and you ear a smal sound . restart batocera and you will get sound .. on beta 5.22 interface sound is not working for me only on games lists by choosing a rom or on games ..

Hi Gamecast, yes that worked, for anyone else having this issue I had to do CTRL+ALT+F2 to get back to Batocera from the audio mixer.

So Audio now works, Dreamcast and SEGA CD now work, even 3DS runs surprisingly well. Thanks for your help with this.

Is there a donate or Patreon. I have now almost completed my setup and its been pretty seamless so far. Hugely impressed, couldn't see anything on the main webpage.
