No, it will not work.
technically, the 5.x of batocera means a very big change at the architecture level.
batocera has now 2 partitions, one visible from windows, and an other one for the data.
while recalbox has 3 partitions.
if you have a partition tool, you can remove the 2nd recalbox partition and extend the 1rst partition.
the faster is to create a new card and synchronize from a linux machine.
an other way is to save on a usb key from recalbox (i made a script for that if you know how to connect with ssh), and then, do the same on batocera.
