I have the 64 bit version installed on my laptop and it runs everything up to Gamecube and certain Wii games. When I connect the laptop to a TV to play, it seems that the resolution is changed in the menu and also in the games. The menu shows up as about half the size of the tv screen, and it's halfway off the laptop screen. This isn't really an issue except when I'm trying to play some of the more demanding Gamecube and Wii games. It seems that the resolution is higher or maybe the pc has to work harder trying to drive 2 displays and this causes lag. Is there a way to force a common lower resolution regardless of what display is being used? Or even better, disable the display on the laptop screen and just show on the TV?
I've gone to the dolphin config file and edited the resolution, but it doesn't seem to have any effect, and when I restart the computer it goes back to normal. Under [Interface] main window width and height, if I change them to 640x480 it doesn't help, and it gets reset to 1920x1080 on restart. I've gone into the dolphin setting while the game is running by pressing alt+tab, and changed every setting I can find. No matter what resolution I set it to, it always looks the same and runs the same.
Thank you for any ideas you might have.
Here are some photos of what the laptop screen and TV look like while both on at the same time.
