I'm having a weird issue with Batocera in which a USB drive has sound but the other doesn't.
BTW, it's not the "Disk usage N/A" issue, I found a couple of topics about it and I've checked that that isn't what it's happening in my case.
system:
Asus AM1I-A + Athlon 5350 + 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
working USB drive - Kingston Data Traveler SE9 16GB USB2.0
USB drive with issue - Kingston Data Traveler 100 G3 128GB USB3.0
so first I tested Batocera on the 16GB drive and at first I got no sound but then I just increased the volume on the sound settings and played around with the options, tested a few themes, etc.
When I found out everything worked just fine I went and got the 128GB drive but then I got the issue that sound wasn't working. Increasing the volume to 100% doesn't do anything either.
So far I've tested the following on the non-working drive:
- Install themes - OK, setting kept after reboot
- Copy ROMS - OK, roms kept after reboot
- Checked system info - disk usage shows 0/110GB
- Moving to different USB3/2 ports - same issue, no sound
- Check the files in the BATOCERA partition - no discernible difference found
Help?
EDIT:
SOLVED??
Ok, this is some of those weird issues that you just can't wrap your head around. I recalled that I had entered Kodi the first time on the 16GB stick and that I didn't do that the on the 128GB one so I just went and ran Kodi on the 128GB stick and watched a video.... suddenly I had sound 😃 Maybe on the firts run Kodi does some config stuff in the background???
Well I suppose it's still a bug but I'll just leave this post here just in case someone gets into the same situation.
