Usb load issues (solved kinda)

Im having a heck of a hard time figuring out how to load batocera via USB for a first time run.

The computer doesnt seem to recognize it on the USB and never boots into it. Ive tried the 64bit and the 32bit. I just can not get it to boot into it. Am I missing something here?

Im using a 2 core HP tower computer for refference

there should be a button you can press when you boot the computer to enter the bios or select boot device.

its usually one of the F buttons, often it is either F2, F8, F9, F10 or F11 and you most likely need to spam the button to enter the bios/boot select screen.
dont use a wireless keyboard and if the computer has a ps/2 keyboard port, it will ususally be the best choice to enter the bios/boot selection screen.

I am asking me if you just copy the package to your USB Stick, or install it with Etcher ?
Just a question, but could be a reason.

Is your bios set to boot from USB? Could you give little more details about your pc? What graphic card, processor, ram? What size USB are you using and how did you flash it?

I have my pendrive whith x64 configurated since 5.22 saw the light first time with roms in a HDD, yesterday just happened the same situation that comment here, the difference between us is that I used for a certain time, maybe an upgrade, maybe I have to install 5.22 again, I'll install and say to you.

I have entered the bios screen and told it to only load to the USB drive and i still get the same error

try another usb stick, some usb sticks does not work well with some motherboards.

also its worth noting that some motherboards can not boot from usb 3+.

I have found a workaround but it doesnt really solve the issue at hand

I used a seperate PC to install it onto a harddrive and put that into the uncooperative PC and now Batocera works but only via that harddrive

well, atleast it works now.

either way, this seems like a problem on your end, considdering that it works on a diffrent computer.
various motherboards can have multiple diffrent ways of enabling or disabling booting from usb, which at times can be very complicated to figure out and especially on name brand computers you can sometimes be somewhat locked out from booting via usb or it has maby only one port that allows booting from usb.

Took me a week or two to figure it out for myself. When i tried to boot from usb stick i had to actually select the specific usb stick not just usb drive. It didnt pop up for me as an option until i disabled everything else and found it in another menu and disabled a different hard drive. then went back and it let me boot from the specific usb (for me it said lexar usb and other random stuff. disable safe boot i hear thats an issue sometimes.

Well the thing is, it had no harddrive, i had went into the BIOS and told it to only load from USB, and it refused to load from that stick, but all my other PCs it works A-Ok with

Halvhjearne Im sure its this specific computer but it still hits me as strange since i told it to only boot from USB and it absolutely refused to with Bat, but it has booted if i ran other OSs from a USB

In any case, it works but it seems like a problem that should be looked into

I dont know how to edit the tags on this so im going to say this issue is kinda solved since ive worked out a solution kinda to the issue

One solution is often to disable the Sata in the bios, I was having such issue with not connected HDD.
I use an USB3-stick and an USB3-connected SSD together. So, not only speed is largely higher
as on Sata (about the double with SSD) and the drivers are disabled also for the board, some more
speed save. And before all. no extra power supply for the Sata drive.
