nadenislamarre sorry for reviving the post hehe, had a 128gb ssd and 1tb hdd wd disc, can i install batocera on de ssd(for speed) and then add all the games on the hdd 1tb hardrive?? because i couldnt figure out how :c

Kossay Edit your batocera-boot.conf with something like this:

sharedevice=DEV <your_1tb_partition_uuid>

sharedevice=NETWORK
sharenetwork_cmd1=mount <your_1tb_partition_device> /userdata

thanks for the reply, now i have another quick question, i put batocera on a 2tb hard drive, fresh install, when i tried to update to the last batocera(cause its 5.22) using OTA update its says "not enough space".... :c

Kossay There was a space change on system partition in between some past versions. You might just have to do a fresh install of the system rather than update.

poke That would be far to long in case of using for example 2×3tb drives. Would have to have single system on the described drive and not mix of both(as that would be to long to complete). Also that would require doing paths for each game, wouldnt it? I am not to bothered at the moment and would rather wait for a full integration.

BZZ btrfs can be used since 5.26 if i remember correctly. You can try to create a single JBOD volume with both drives. Just leave system part out.

Something like:

install batocera on 1st hd. Let it boot and expand part2.
create one part on disk2
mkfs.btrfs -L SHARE -d raid0 -d single -m raid1 /dev/disk1p2 /dev/disk2p1 (device names are fictional)
reboot and see what happens. resize script may creeps out.

poke Cool, thanks. I have not touched Batocera since the start of summer holidays, as I mainly build it for my kids and they are away ;-) I will (hopefully) give it a go sometime in September ;-)

I found a way to use 2 hdds for roms and a ssd for the system. its kinda crude but it works, YOu can change the storage options in the menu. If you have 2 hdds then you see 2 options for internal storage . once both drives are setup for internal storage clone all the folders on both drives for every folder except roms. then setup the rom folders, I put all systems except ps2 and psp on one drive in the roms folder and then the roms for ps2 and psp on the other. then just switch up the internal storage option on the menu as you will. YOu wont be able to see all your games at once but it does allow you to use 2 hdds for rom storage technically.
